Ummm no, I used the article as an illustration to support the point that no system is perfect...as acknowleged by Freightman. I did not address which was better. You disregarded my actual words and, thinking you had the ability to read my mind, jumped to the conclusion that I was saying the US system was better.

Well ok. I might have done that.

It's not that hard... You don't have to halt the entire economy and shut everything down. It's how South Korea solved it. It ends up being wayyyyyy more economically sensible. You test everyone, quarantine the sick and limit the spread. It works rapidly and effectively. See below:

South Korea developed an entire testing infrastructure in 6 days that the US merely had to copy. Instead tests seem to be reserved exclusively for celebrities/NBA players, and those on their death beds, WITH fever over 102 (NOT 101.9, SORRY, don't qualify then), AND have been in direct contact with a confirmed case (direct contact with someone who died of pneumonia?... sorry, if they didn't get tested, you don't qualify).

Hard to say you were in direct contact with someone who tested positive when no one can get tested... This, in my opinion, may be the largest blunder of the whole pandemic.

It's improving now, but far too late.

    You prefer more carbon emissions?

No. I wish we could have it both ways but when you look at the Green New Deal it’s either reduced carbon emissions or the economy. I pick the economy.

Interestingly enough, because if history, I was referred to an internist who needed to clear me. That added a month or so.
Got a call Tuesday. Cataract surgery on again yesterday for right eye and next Thursday for left eye. A pretty stringent screening procedure was in place. Also received a follow up call from the surgucal suites asking if, since yesterday’s procedure, had I developed any Covid 19 symptoms.

For those that are interested, the procedure was painless and I saw all kinds of neat and vivid colours. When I was told that it was over, I was surprised as I thought they were still putting liquids in my eyes.

You likely received an IV sedative.

No IV. I declined it. Some sort of mini sedative (Under the tongue) to relax me, and not put me to sleep (which I did not want).

You made the correct choice. You were obviously sedate.

So, while old people must strenuously avoid being infected regardless of their current health status, for everyone else, particularly young adults and children, a different policy should be in effect. Vaccination is the safest way to establish “herd immunity,” the condition in which the general population is largely resistant to an infection, and its members, even if they become infected, are therefore incapable of spreading it. Until there is a vaccine for COVID-19, however, the only route to herd immunity is for those who can be infected without getting sick, become so.

I am suspecting second wave of COVID19 in September because of football season coming up. People is going to go crazy, not following social distancing, not wearing face masks, and getting on top of each other.

It's already happening. Just look at some of the pics online. The Boardwalk in Ocean City, MD, beaches, the restaurant in Colorado a few weeks ago, etc.

They gave me Lidocaine, Midazolam and Fentanyl. Lots of colors. I could hear a bit of chatting during the surgery and they asked me a few questions while adjusting the lens. Felt nothing.
