Also, social distancing is more difficult if you are less well off. And, underlying conditions (asthma, hypertension, diabetes) and weaker immune systems from a lower level of preventative care and poorer nutrition can be a factor. Lack of funds can make it difficult to stock up on food. 40% of Americans can not come up with $400 to cover an emergency. Closed schools present more of a problem. Many low-income jobs are considered essential and require close quarters: cooks, nurse’s aides, grocery store clerks, delivery folk. Low-income jobs generally cannot be done remotely.

You should hear it at 7PM every day as people come to their windows and balconies and cheer the health workers. Then there are the grocery clerks, delivery folk, police, trash collectors. A lot of people are still working, and at jobs requiring a possibility of infection.

There is no real data yet on if more poor people are dying from the virus...anything else is conjecture.
More poor people smoke and are overweight...which many doctors are now saying are very big contributing factors to death with this virus.
There are lots of poor people in say Arkansas etc that do not have the virus.
Poor people die from events mostly because they are not educated on many things...whose fault that is? That may be up for debate.

COVID-19 is affecting African Americans and Latinos much more than whites. As explained above, social distance is much easier for upper class including teleworking. The presence of co-morbidities and well-known healthcare access disparities add to the insult. These are facts, and not political opinion.

You say it, but these are not facts.
Of course it is easier for the upper class to do social distancing. That doesn't explain anything.
Even if all races and income groups isolated to the same degree...more of the poor would die...because they smoke more, eat worse, and are overweight. Just like they die from anything else everyday...smoking, heart disease, diabetes, violence, etc etc.
High income people like doctors and nurses are probably the most at risk day to day currently.
Now if you want to question why the poor do those things...then that is a different discussion.

If there was anyone idiotic enough to make that comment, it’s you. Glad you decided to come out in the open.

There are highly educated people who opted to become educated rather than merely rich. I know people with Ph’d’s and Masters degrees that earn under $30k a year or are unemployed.

And your comment here means what exactly?
And I am always out in the open numbnuts.
I don't know anyone with a PHD or Masters that makes less than $30K per year.

I don’t know if you know anyone who is educated either. You ain’t.

My neighbour is a Ph’d in Music, plays Cello and Violin in the city orchestra, earns less than $30k. My spouse has a Masters in apolitical Science from another country, works as a part time dental assistant. My ex-wife has a Masters in Arts, works as a waitress and occasionally sells her work. She too makes under $30k.

Making Money is not being educated.

Closed. Devolved into children hurling insults for absolutely no reason.
