Chip Change - Isle of Capri Cape Girardeau & Lady Luck Caruthersville

Just found out today that Isle in Cape Girardeau, MO and Lady Luck in Caruthersville, MO changed out their chips very recently. You have until May 18th to cash them out, so do it soon if you’re sitting on an inventory! May 18th is the date I got when I called the Isle in Cape. I have a friend going out to Lady Luck this afternoon to see if the chip expiration date is the same or not (I assume it is). Century Casino owns these two properties now and that’s the reason for the casino name and chip change. I’ll report back if I hear of anything different.

The aisle was my home casino for years. They finally caught on to me, start cutting off 2/3 deck about 18 months ago. I never did find a good game at the Lady Luck, mostly cause I went on week days and only $5 table available.

Ryemo, I am countermeasured at Ameristar and Hollywood, won’t even let me flat bet without cutting off 3 out of 6 decks and 2/3 of DD. I have concluded after keeping track for some time at a River City that something is up with ASM’s and Lumiere games on main floor are not that good. I could use some suggestions around here.

If you are going to flat bet, it doesn't matter if they deal one hand then shuffle, or deal to the last card.

Well, of course, technically, that isn't exactly true. If you bet one hand, that's BS (if you're alone), and your edge would be the off-the-top BS value. If you flat bet and they deal all the way to the last card, you can employ strategy deviations, and while you can't get the edge, especially in a shoe game, you will lose less than if they constantly dealt a single hand and then shuffled.

    But you know that.

I think what Zee is saying is that once you get labeled as an AP, they’ll continue to counter measured you, regardless of your intentions. Even if you decided to sit down and just flat bet, they’ll counter measure you anyway because they don’t want to gamble with you.

It’s funny, because I know a local AP that used to play in the area and he built his bankroll from something like 10K to 30K I think. He ended up busting out in the end, but the casino continued to counter measure him, even though the amounts he was betting was practically nothing. They based their decision to continue counter measuring him by his reputation, not based on his current level of play. That probably costs them more money because they’d half shoe him on 6D or quarter shoe him on DD, and he’d play through the counter measures. So essentially, they were simultaneously counter measuring everyone else at the table, despite the fact this kid’s bankroll was no more than 1,000 or $2,000. That’s just how MO is.

I was countermeasured on a busy Saturday night. I thought Zi would keep moving to other tables, forcing them to countermeasure me at their own expense but then I thought they might find a way to make it ugly, create a public nuisance (have a hostess spill some drink on me) so I just left.

Ryemo, don’t know how to pm you but you could email me at [email protected]

I'm being told that Caruthersville will no longer accept old chips after May 14th. I honestly feel like I've been told 3 different dates (May 14, 16, & 18th). So if anyone does have an inventory, I'd say get rid of your chips cashed/changed out before May to be on the safe side. Just and FYI
