So in my local casino I play (unrated) the side bet for cover, which, with my 1-6 spread on their 6 deck shoe, gives me a -$2/hr EV. I'm ok with this as I play there for fun with my wife and just want to avoid the tap as long as possible, but still have some chance of a winning session. Its only a red chip game, do you believe the house will eventually take interest in my meager spread?

Please drop playing the side bet and do plenty of Wonging out. If you happen to get barred the place was not worth the trouble to begin with. Regardless if you are having fun playing with a negative $2 hr EV or not this is a blackjack board where people are trying everything they can do to increase their EV edges. Playing just for fun is hard for some people to comprehend here. Wave where are you when we need you?

OMG...just got back from dinner with the fam and saw this. The first thing I thought when I saw it was "BoSox is not going to be happy about Snake's post!" ROTFLMFAO!

@Snake, BoSox and others were critical of my comp hustle play I used to make at a local store with a 6 deck S17 DAS DOA LS 75% pen game and 1:4 spread with hourly EV of about $20 until recently when the comps dried up. That's why I started laughing when I read your unrated hourly EV was -$2...but I am grateful to you since now BoSox can rip on you for your less than optimal play and only really rip on me now for front counting (@BoSox, @Don)...lmao!

In my defense, at least I got some + EV and some nice comps...Snake, you were playing unrated, so NO COMPS AND -EV? Let the berating begin...

1-6 spread for 6D won't make you money, let alone $2 side bet overhead. The quick fix is to spread $10 to $90 (to avoid $100 checkplay yell) and only bet $1 on Lucky Lady. Most importantly Wong out and rest on the remaining shoe when TC hits -3. The reason not to Wong out at TC -1 is not to take breaks too often. Also house edge on LL increases when TC is super negative.

Snake, Wave was being very modest as pertaining to his comp hustling which was taken to a whole new level. He was making around $20 an hr in positive EV and $87.50 an hr in comp dollars by a friendly floor lady who had a crush on him. All of this came to a halt one day when out of the blue the missus suddenly appeared at the table and noticed how the floor lady was looking at him. He saw this and told the missus to pay no attention it is all about business and the extra EV. However, the floor lady also noticed that "and she did not even get a date" he was already taken, and the party suddenly ended for good.

Only hyper sweaty dumps care about red chip spread. If the average table is green at your joint then you’ll be fine.

I played BJ as a ploppy for 16 years before I recently started card counting after I saw the movie holy rollers on tv. Even though I’m a winning player now I haven’t even been backed off yet. I just act casual and I drink a lot of beer at the table which helps me blend in. The funny thing is I actually play better drunk but to them I just look like another loser gambler.

I would have picked Stealth if it was available. Sometimes you have to improvise. My friends have called me Stealth longer than some kid on this forum who took the name before I got to it. This looks better than Stealth123.

"This some kid Stealth" has been posting here for a long time before you showed up. You should change your handle, if nothing else then just out of politeness to him.
