Thread: Looking for people to play with in Vegas

Really was just looking to sit at a table with someone, not meeting up at a hotel or something. I tried to bring a few friends, but all were unavailable and I had to go for work.

Ended up sitting at a table with an AP by chance at a casino off the strip. I had a good time playing with him until he left abruptly because he thought the pit boss called security. In my case, I thought it would be fun to be able to play with someone with more experience with me (as I have only been playing for 2 years) and learn from them. Otherwise, I'm at a table with a bunch of people complaining about me switching out between 1 and 2 hands, doubling A,8, etc. I definitely had a lot more fun playing with someone else at the table than I did any other night of the trip.

Why on earth do you post here then ? Posting to people you're obviously not going to like in person seems like a really dumb idea. Are you simply posting for personal affirmation ?
Or perhaps you should really reconsider your statement.

I don’t post on the forum to make friends. I post to learn how to play and to give me the fortitude to make tough plays. I have learned much from many here, learned about resources and how to get them and more. It’s been about 6+ years now.

As far as meeting up with strangers where money is involved let me tell you a story of a professional pool player who was also a dealer at the Beau Rivage. One night he was playing pool in a bar in Ocean Springs where everyone knew him. Then up walks a stranger who had been watching the men playing pool for money after they finished he proceeded with a story of how he was in town looking to start a music gig with the local casinos and could Mike (The Dealer at The Beau Ravage) possibly take him around town because he was unfamiliar with Biloxi. Mike agreed so they left the bar together later that night. The next day Mikes vehicle was still in the parking lot of the bar, people knew that was odd so they called him with no luck then they went to his house and discovered he had been murdered. They had video of the stranger talking to Mike in the bar but as far as I know he still hasn't been brought to justice so be very careful

That's fine and I'm glad for you. So why do you assume you wouldn't be able to befriend anyone on here ? I don't get the logic in your train of thought.

Befriending someone with money in your pocket and the only thing you know about that person is that he is an AP makes little sense. Now, if someone befriends me on the forum, exchanges messages with me, Shares a bit of himself and I know we have other stuff in common, someone in my age group, the maybe. It’s not a priority for me.

ZeeBabar I do have to agree with the majority of people here that you do sound quite paranoid in meeting anyone from this forum.... you seem to be totally fine talking randomly to people on the internet then actually putting a name to a face in PERSON.... You must not have many friends. Poor guy.

It's best to have a few good friends. I'd rather have no friends than a lot of pedestrian friends.

Having no friends is kind of scary. I'd rather have at least some real friends of any kind in the real world. Less serial killers that way.

You are young, you can make friends. Most of us have friends from decades ago, real friends. The others are acquaintances who don’t really know us and vice versus.

Its what happens when a kindergartner goes to a graduate class. He can’t understand what it’s about.
