So you have cash, want to meet people with their own, to meet you, an anonymous person, in Las Vegas. Whew, you are one trusting guy! Bj is a lonely profession, you want to play with a friend, bring one that you know from childhood.

You meet one, you have a meal together, you feel like you made a buddy, you go play, he says he lost his BR, will you lend him a couple of hundred dollars? And that is just a minor inconvenience. If he knows what car you drive, where you stay and he is really a local guy with friends..look out!

Zee, it doesn’t always have to be a lonely profession. I’ve met a ton of AP’s from the community and I’ve become close friends with a lot of them.

On the same token, I also don’t advertise my whereabouts and I typically don’t meet with people unless they have an extensive posting history on the forums and/or someone I know can vouch for that person.

Networking has been extremely beneficial for me in this line of work.

It’s hard for me to imagine a positive friendship development with anyone here. In person, we could be a very different persona than can be concluded from the forum. One does not know color, race, religion, political views of anyone posting here. Having said that, there are a few folks here that might be interesting to meet.

I have had a few AP’s that really did not approach me for friendship. They figured out I was counting and mentioned it. Remember a lady AP who told me that I had gotten lucky, sent me a message that I had put a max bet out at a TC -5, confused it. Tunica, I think. Another time, I placed a side bet and an AP came up behind me and said “you do know the count has to be a positive 7 to have plus EV (or something to that effect) in Colorado. Another played at my table in wLas Vegas, mentioned coming across me on this forum, never saw him again.

Yeah, I would actually like to meet some guys here but have no idea how. I recently messaged someone banned here, a good old friend of Norm (NOT), for help getting on another forum but he was mad at me, sayinggZi took Norm’s side and basically to f$&k off.

Here's the first thing - Don't be so detailed on a public forum, as you were in the above post. I know that lady you mention and she is very pissed at you for what she considers "outing" her on a public forum with too much info.

Jeez, paranoia runs deep. Without a casino name, without mentioning race, religion, height, weight, year and month it occurred I have “outed” her? Simply by saying a lady AP?

It wasn't from your post in this thread. This happened a couple of years ago. I don't recall all the details, but your post shortly after your trip mentioned a casino, her sytle of play and a few other things I don't recall now.

Your attitude has always been playing rated doesn't matter, OSN doesn't matter, etc. The difference is this is a full-time pro who makes her living playing BJ. You may call it paranoia and chalk it up to a bad day if you lose or get backed off, others depend on playing to earn their living. She didn't appreciate the attention of a "part-time recreational player." While some casinos throw out anyone moving their money around, to their own detriment, other casinos have competent game protection that can differentiate between the threat of someone like you and someone like her. You may be somewhat immune to countermeasures in casinos with competent game protection, but she isn't.

I understand that there are others who view things differently but I think your statement shows why you may have trouble connecting with others. You should try starting with a common interest (AP), and let other things reveal themselves during casual conversation. You may come to realize that those things don't matter as you learn to concentrate on the things we have in common more than the things that tend to divide us. Please take this in the spirit intended, it is not meant as blame. It is just to give you another way of looking at things.

Firm believer that one can ever have too many friends....so open to that, but...

Don't team, so would never play together

I learned from that post of a few years ago. I chose not to say anything in this post other than “a lady”. Even in that other post, except for race and the casino name, I did not say anything because I did not know anything to reveal about her. Fact is that by the time she messaged me that I had made a mistake, I could not recall anything about her, would not recognize her if I ever sa2 her again.

Rather than revert to an old post, why not critique my current post? I did not indicate anything inappropriate, did not describe anyone, mention any casino.

I didn't really have anything to critique in your current post, but since you brought it up... :-) There really was no need to mention venues at all to make your point. Tunica has a handful of casinos and Colorado has only 2 small towns in the state with casinos. It's not that I'm trying to dredge up old issues. It was to make the point that you can see why APs would be hesitant to meet you - loose lips. You have a long history of posting trip reports with lots of specific info. APs like their anonymity. Posting about playing styles of individuals you met doesn't bode well for forging AP relationships. It's clear that part of your enjoyment of playing BJ is posting your post-trip reports, so it's a fine line to balance between respecting privacy and making your point.

    Loose lips sink ships.

This is all so needless. I did not describe an AP. My posts have not resulted in any AP outed, ever. No casino has backed, barred, placed an AP in a database because of my posts.

If you are an AP, please don’t approach me if you are concerned that I might “out” you. Thanks.
