    CVBJ surrender settings

    Hi all,

I have a question regarding the surrender settings in CVBJ.

Is it possible to have the CVBJ set up with No dealer hold card and ES? (except against A).
At the moment I have checked off "No dealer hole card dealt" under Common Rules and "Early Surrender (Rare form) under Surrender Options. By doing so, the software does allow me to surrender early on any dealer up card (2 to 10) but it also allows me to surrender against an A, which is not what I want. In other words, I need the CVBJ allow me to surrender early against any cards except against an A and insurance available only.

Furthermore, I noticed that even if I have it set up at ES with No Hole Card, I can still surrender as if it's LS where you can make the surrendering decision on your turn to act even after additional hitting cards have been withdrawn prior to your turn which is not how it's played in real life.

    Thank you.

First, I think you are referring to CVData and not CVBJ, no? Second, in the former, click Rules, then choose Early surrender vs. 10.

    Hello Don,

I am referring to Casino Verite BJ. Ultimately, I would like to have it set up and practice to play at stores that offer BJ rules of No Hole Card and ES (Any card except dealer A).

As you mentioned, did try changing it to ES10 but noticed no difference. It still offers me to late surrender against dealer A. Additionally, even after changing it to ES10 from ES, it still lets me late surrender (on my turn) on any dealer up card (dealer: 2, 4, 6 etc).

Can't help any further. Hopefully, Norm will chime in.

Are you saying the casino allows ES10 but does not allow any late surrender? Are you sure that is the casino rule?

    Hello Norm,

Currently, in the region I started playing has BJ that does not have dealer hole card, offers surrender but only prior to anybody’s act (no withdrawn cards to hit). Also, players cannot surrender against dealer A. You can either buy insurance and hit or stand. Which would mean No Hole Card, ES (any card except against A). So I am trying to have it set up in the CVBJ to mimic the exact settings but can’t seem to get it right. Maybe these exact features are not available on CVBJ due to its rarity condition?

Hadn't heard of that rule combo before. For now, just change the strategy to not allow surrender for those hands where it isn't allowed.

Surrender against dealer A only is not allowed. How can I change the strategy in CVBJ to not allow surrender against specific cards?

    Go to Define/Edit strategy
Create a new strategy based on the one you are using
Click Tables on that strategy and change the surrender table
Set the new strategy to the strategy you are using.

    Make sense. Thanks, Norm.
