    We Should Demand Clean Chips

Casinos are doing a lot to prevent the coronavirus. Hand sanitizing stations everywhere, but are they cleaning the gaming chips? The chips should be washed, and if this is not possible new chips should be rotated in every day. The virus can only live on surfaces for a couple of days and if new chips are brought to the table at least once a day, the germs will die after a few days. I think all of us should ask the casinos what they are doing to provide germ free chips.

Not disagreeing with anything you're saying, but ... you're at a table with other players who touch the chips for every hand. They lose and those chips are touched by the dealer who puts them in the tray. Then you win and the dealer gives you those same chips that were touched by one or more of the other players. What good does washing do??

Be careful what you ask for, you're likely to get them to go all digital requiring you to always use a players card.

Exactly. That is the obvious solution to a casino manager. The full solution, desired by the casinos for years, is no dealers. Just machines. And it would be a very shortsighted move.

Or.. even more simply... Do not touch your face while playing. Don't scratch your nose, rub your eye, anything. Resist that itch. It can be really tough for many people but it goes a long way.

Wait until you've washed your hands well. Just getting the virus on your hands isn't going to make you sick unless you give it a route of entry into your body.

That being said, I'd stay away from casinos. Especially if it's busy. Even if you're careful not to touch your face it still spreads through the air.

Squeeze a lemon on your hands and you may quickly find small cuts you didn’t know you had.

Given all the shit going on, what is the effect on tables in Las Vegas ? Fewer folks? Does that result in more liberal rules to compete with each other?

I think from past posts I've seen you're probably over 60?

I wouldn't be worrying about squeezing dollars out of this. I'd stay away from casinos if I were you. I think your health is more important.

Very good post. The only thing that I would add is that everyone needs to think about their own wife's health. As you don't want to be responsible for bringing the virus home by way of the casino. Either way,(if you now head to the casinos) you are in a no-win situation. She can tell you for the rest of her life that she always knew that she came in second to the casinos regarding her husband.

Doubtful. Casino management believe players are too stupid to notice the difference in rules (and they are mostly correct, especially at lower limits).
When you get to Vegas, try to negotiate better rules (DAS on DD, 2:1 BJs) and see what happens

Yeah, they'll advertise even a higher BJ payoff: 11:10.

I never discuss rules, penetration, burn cards etc., for fear of getting heat.

As noted above, chips don't stay clean. The simple answer is to wear gloves.
