However, he also likes to lip off so I'm giving him and anybody else this fair warning. The first casino that is closest to the Wisconsin border as you enter the U.P. from WI is a little casino in Watersmeet, MI. Now just in case this road sign is completely buried by snow, I will give you this warning. Beware, this is the Home of the Nimrods. Don't use the name in vain and you will be fine.

Thank you for starting yet another thread about the pathetic place you choose to live. Nimrods is a perfect name for people who live there :-) BTW, I was only aware of definition #2.

    nim·rod
    noun
    1.
    LITERARY
    a skillful hunter.
"nimrods take to the field after everything from prairie dogs to grizzly bears"
    2.
    INFORMAL•NORTH AMERICAN
    an inept person.

P.S. Is there a HL room in the casino?

If you want high limit make sure your visit is on a weekend when the tables are $200 max.

At one time the U.P. was the place to be for casino gaming in MI. Back in 1993 five of the first seven gaming compacts were for tribes in the U.P. of MI. At that time there were no Detroit casinos and buses from lower MI regularly made gaming trips to the casinos in the eastern U.P. Also back then gaming in WI had not yet began. So yes that little casino in Watersmeet had all the folks coming north from WI. They must of had at least 20 blackjack tables going in their heyday. Today, you will find 3 blackjack tables and only one shift for the table games.

Just bundled up to walk to the grocery store. Then looked up the temperature. It's 67 degrees in New York. It did snow last Wednesday -- for about 30 seconds.

Suggest you get a weather station. Tells you everything about the weather and temperature inside and outside your apartment, the minute you wake up. :-)

No need to get your own weather station. Just go to weather underground and look at the many weather stations all around New York City. If you don't like the one you are looking at, there is another one close by to check out. Just click on the change link. I'm always checking out the weather stations in the U.P.

I suppose I could also walk out on a balcony. As long as I don't look down.
