    DD vs. 6 Deck...

Assuming no significant heat, the availability of a 1.2 deck cut off, 6 Deck, H-17 game with standard rules, what are the conditions that would make you opt for the 6 deck game over a DD game, H-17?

    DD Factors..

    1. Penetration? At 50% or 60% or what?

    2. Rules?
    A. At no DAS in DD?
    B. Double on 9-11 only?

    3. # of players at DD game?

    4. Some combination of penetration, rules and players?

When walking into a casino or when in a casino playing DD, I am always faced with that decision....when to skip or leave the DD game as penetration, rules and especially a constant change of # of players at DD game occurs. I find myself joined by other players at a DD game and there are 6 deck games available nearby.

Please don’t tell me to go use software, I am simply wandering how DD players assess the situations they face.

As for comparison to the 6-deck game. It's very seldom even close. If there's no heat, the DD game will usually prevail. For instance, a DD game with 2/3 pen and the lousy rules you note above would still be preferable to (higher SCORE than) a 6-decker with 4.8/6 pen.

Wow, does that mean I should still opt for the DD game with 60% penetration, no DAS when 4+ spots are being played?

I had felt that the 6 deck game is preferable....but it’s almost like I should not play 6 deck as long as there is a spot open at the DD table.

I am am getting confused..I am not understanding you. I was stating that 4.8 of the 6 deck game would be dealt.

use a simulator like CVCX to compare different games. usually the correct answer is to play them both.

It’s what I thought. The question was about determining when to play which one.

I did, but did not get the answers I was looking for, so Zi framed it differently, hoping to get answers. I do have the CVCX and CVCC but just too dumb to get the answers, don’t know how to use them other than for optimal betting.

if you look at my post and answer, it might help. Maestro says that no matter what, SCORE shows DD is the better game. I am waiting for other views.

Play with it. You can't break anything. The bottom row in CVCX gives you hourly EV, etc. It's easy to change rules, decks, penetration, etc., and get instant answers.
When you change the number of players, don't forget to change the hands per hour.

If you are really stuck, email Norm. If it takes him longer than an hour to respond, send the paramedics
