    Hi Midwest

You can still fly to and from Vegas. I was just talking about spending Fri. and Sat. nights in Laughlin. It is only about 1-1/2 drive each way. I can see why the Laughlin junkets sell out quickly. I know I would like a little time in the desert after a UP winter. Wendover junkets are a better deal from my area. $329 in March for Riverside in Laughlin(dates are still available here). Wendover is only $179/$199 (Weekday/Weekend) with all of those single deck games

If I go to Vegas, I won't need a car. Vegas has good public transportation, and from the looks of it, the casinos in downtown Vegas are in walking distance of one another. If I fly to Vegas, I surely won't go to Laughlin. I've been there already and nothing is really special in Laughlin. However, I might do it the other way around. I might make a trip to Laughlin and go visit Vegas.

I'm still good for a comped flight to Laughlin. I'm also good for 2 nights of comped rooms both at Harrah's and Aquarius in Laughlin. Maybe going to Vegas via Laughlin is the way to go.

MWP, as someone who has made a dozen trips to Las Vegas and tried different housing, different transportation, visits over 30+ casinos, my advice is as follows:

    1. Rent a car. You play DD and some of the best games are not on the strip or downtown, especially if you play $25 min. Or less). Driving in Las Vegas is surprisingly easy, rental cars are generally cheap (except on big event days/weekends).

    2. Staying downtown in a casino is a pain. Remember that online sites don’t tell you about “resort fees”. Remember that the music outside is loud, people get drunk and if you are sleeping, it gets interrupted by drunk people returning to their rooms in the am hours, fights, porn next door, etc. Staying on a strip hotel means paying for parking in addition to resort fees AND usually a very long walk from self parking to your room. I now prefer the Super8 or similar non casino hotel or a casino hotel such as the Tuscany or Palace Station where parking is close and security is good. I like to park my rental car right outside my room.

Good luck! If you share when you might be there, maybe we can meet. I have an upcoming trip in Zjanuary and will soon be booking trips for the rest of the year.

Definitely rent a car if you're gonna be playing lots of double deck
