Sounds like the Holiday Inn on Broadway. Closed many years ago. The Mandarin Casino in Chinatown was 2 blocks from Main and Hastings which is as bad as Vancouver gets. BTW the worst areas of Vancouver are safer than 99% of the USA.

I wouldn't say safer than 99% of USA, but safer than US cities.

According to Statistics Canada, the region reported 52 homicides last year, the highest number since 2009. Across the country, gun-related homicides reached the highest rate in 25 years, with 266 fatal gunshot victims. In Metro Vancouver, 48 per cent of victims were killed by guns — that's seven more than in 2016.Nov 21, 2018

Metro Vancouver Population = 2.46 Million - 1 homicide per week - One the deadliest areas in Canada

All of Canada only 266 fatal gunshot victims

Jan 6, 2018 - According to Las Vegas Review-Journal records, Metro investigated 171 homicides, not including the 58 deaths from the mass shooting on Oct.

Metro LV Population = 2.23 million, but over 3 times as many homicides as Vancouver

All of USA - 109 deaths PER DAY(although this includes suicides)

In 2017, gun deaths reached their highest level since 1968 with 39,773 deaths by firearm, of which 23,854 were by suicide and 14,542 were homicides. The rate of firearm deaths per 100,000 people rose from 10.3 per 100,000 in 1999 to 12 per 100,000 in 2017, with 109 people dying per day.

The Ramada in Reno is freaking scary! Went one time, got pulled over after I left the parking lot because my headlights were not on (rental). Explained it was a rental and the light control had no 'auto'. They asked to check the vehicle, and then did a 'touch your nose, walk the line test'. Nope, will never again go to shit holes like that. They are being watched and the cops are waiting to pull someone over.

You're mad because you forgot to turn your headlights on and a cop pulled you over? Auto doesn't mean your real headlights would be on anyway. That is a huge red flag that you might have been drinking, or just a bad driver. I am glad he pulled you over to check duh.
