rewards desk baiting me in for a backoff/trespass

I played bj at a cec property a couple times last month. When the pit instructed the dealer to start half-shoeing me, I left and have been playing poker only for the last several weeks.

A few days ago, my tier status went up, and my host gave me some free play for that. I just ran the free play through a machine, cashed out, and then proceeded to continue playing poker.

But now suddenly I am not accruing any comps or tier credits on my card when I play poker. The kiosk tells me to see the rewards desk for assistance, which makes no sense. When I visited the diamond/laurel lounge, they had trouble letting me in because my card was acting funny and they told me to see the rewards desk too. I wonder if they are just trying to get me at the rewards desk where they can talk to me so they can give me a permanent backoff or trespass me.

Would they ever give someone a backoff or trespass at the rewards desk? Maybe I should just forgo all my comps/diamond benefits so that I can keep playing poker.

I think I heard from someone that if you just run your free play through a machine and then cash it out with no actual gambling, CEC properties might trespass you just for that, but I wasn't even thinking about that when I used the free play from the host. I can't imagine what else they would want me to go to the rewards desk for.

I would wait until you are ready to leave for the day. If you decide to go to the rewards desk, you have to show I.D., right? Act real friendly, if the rewards desk person gets suddenly really quiet, you have your answer. Most Casino personal have the worst poker faces.

I had something similar at an mgm propery where I play mostly poker but have dabbled a little bit in blackjack
My entire mlife account was frozen
I went to the rewards center and they told me I have to talk to some head pit boss in the high limit pit who lifted the ban on my mlife account if i agreed to not play blackjack anymore which I agreed to and have stuck to my word in that property.

This is how I was backed off from a game. Rewards card didn't work so I went to the desk. They started acting suspiciously, made a couple phone calls, and then the suits showed up.

Here's a funny story tangentially related to this thread:

Many years ago I was backed off from BJ at "Casino X". However, several months later I received a free cash offer from X. This offer required a visit first to the Players Club, to get a printed slip, then a visit to the cage, to exchange the slip for cash.

I dutifully presented the offer to the Players Club girl, along with the corresponding Players Club card. She entered some information into her computer and, while I couldn't read the screen, it turned out I didn't need to, as she conveniently read aloud from the screen, "Contact shift manager." She then excused herself and disappeared through a door behind her counter. Less than a minute later she reappeared and asked with feigned casualness, "So, Mr. Hand, do you plan to play any blackjack today?"

"Oh, no... I have another engagement today," I replied truthfully.

"Okay," she replied, visibly relieved, "here's your slip for the cashier." I had no problem getting the cash.

That reminds me of when a guy said that his wife one day had a lot of unexpected free play on her card, like an unexpected $300 loaded on her card and was pleasantly surprised. She thought the Casino was just being REALLY nice to her, happily played it, and turned some free play into cash. Months later, he and his wife went back to that same Casino. His wife had lost her Player's Card, so he and she went to the Player's Card to get another copy. They took her ID to make a copy, and.... Player's Club Employee staff informed her that she was actually on the Banned List for using free play that was given on her Card that was actually put as a glitch.

He and she were stunned as she honestly thought that $300 free play was just an unexpected gift from the Casino. He pointed out that his wife was not a Thief and wouldn't have played if she knew it was a glitch and not a free gift. She only found out it was a glitch when she asjed for another copy of her card. wonder what would have happened if she hadn't lost her Card in the first place and put the original card in the machine? Would she have seen an,"Account banned," message?" Hmm.
