If you have not been "tested" then I doubt you are what I would call as "table ready" in a week, so be careful. The guy you were playing with was not an AP based on your description of his actions. He was a gambler.
I understand I don’t have a perfect game yet as I said before, and that’s why we’re at the lowest minimum bet we can find, and keeping the spread low like mr. freightman said. I’d say currently I’m not making mistakes on keeping the running count, and I have basic strategy down completely. I still need to get the illustrious 18 memorized better because I’m off by one or so on a few of those. Also, I still need to get better at calculating how many decks are left to get a more accurate true count. I also need to increase my speed. I’ve been timing myself on counting a deck and I seem to always finish at 45 seconds or a little less. Edit: wanted to add that because we are at these lower tables, the game goes by really slow because there’s usually people asking questions, and the dealers are never fast. It’s easy to keep a count in this situation.

So I realize we are nowhere near being perfect players, I know there are more things to learn than what we’re currently looking into, and I wonder why people are getting that idea when we’ve both said we’re novices and still learning. As far as the crazy dude predicting cards, someone else already verified to us that he was indeed counting among other more advanced systems that we can’t use as noobs.
