The "Infamous tap," how do you handle it?

The "Back off from this game/ the Banned Tap. How do you handle it? I remember a guy saying he felt happy at first when he felt the "tap," as he was winning and as he had been expecting it to be a Friend he had been with getting ready to congratulate him on his winning game but it was instead a "Suit," telling him that he had been put on a watch list for card counting and winning too much and needed to back off the game. His happiness turned to frustration in just seconds as he had to leave the winning game. How do you handle the "Infamous tap?"

If you used it as a form of cover when using the count to Wong in/out and played only in player advantage counts, why would it not work? You are still only playing in +ev situations, are you not? Of course, one would still have to count... and one would ALSO have to have sufficient BR to support that style of play, but is not playing only on +ev counts is still playing only on +ev counts, regardless of bet size, as long as your BR can handle it?

In many places in the USA, only on red chip tables can one enter shoes otherwise, it’s No Mid Shoe Entry. Even when you find a game that allows late entry, it’s just a matter of time before you are backed off, you cannot stand by the table counting, getting in and getting out and getting in again, on and on. You will get backed off. You could travel to play but then you have expenses to recover.

You can do a lot of theoretical stuff. It’s like looking at a corvette’s capability to go at 100 mph or higher, see a distance of 500 miles and ask why it cannot be done in 5 hours. The road has some bends, cops and unpredictable weather and idiotic drivers.

Are you asking how one should conduct oneself in the moment, or processing it mentally for later play?

For the former, keep a polite demeanor, pocket your chips and head for the door.

For the latter, I'm curious to hear responses. For me, back-offs are simultaneously unnerving (I'm not going to be able to play anywhere if this keeps happening!) and affirming (hehehe I must be doing something right, they're scared of me!). Neither is an accurate appraisal-there are plenty of places to play blackjack, and if I was doing everything right I wouldn't have gotten the tap. But it is my immediate visceral reaction.

For me, it’s anger followed a few minutes later by a depressed feeling, similar to coming down from a high. On the oitsude, I am polite, don’t say anything, just leave. In my case, it’s been polite like being allowed to play any other game. I have only been asked not to come back only once. It’s been stuff like “we have made a business decision to not allow you to play blackjack”.

I have never headed straight out of the casino, just walked to the cage, cashed my chips, sometimes headed to the coffee shop or bar.

When tapped, leave without comment or response to their questions, do not cash chips, walk off the property. Deal with chips, cars, friends etc later.

My last back off escalated to a trespass as I went straight to the restroom after the back off. I had been delaying my natural urge as I had several shoes in a row with favorable conditions. Upon exit of the restroom the shift manager was waiting for me for the trespass.

I completely agree, but if they trespassed me and I had no friend or trustful person with me to cash my chips later, then I would have no choice but cash them myself before leaving (not being able to return without the risk of getting arrested then) (?). This is a serious question because I have no experience with such back-offs.

unless i have a ton of chips i'm gonna cash them out right then and there
in a lot of places you'll have a harder time cashing them out later coming off the street
people say the best cameras are at the cage but it's 2019 they already can get whatever pictures of me they want and i really don't care

That would be cool if they had a picture of you on their office wall or some other Employee/Employer only section that reads" Caution. Lugia is a Winning Card Counter. Do not allow Blackjack Action for extended periods of time." LOL.
