LS offered at Ocean in AC

Just spent a couple days at the Showboat in AC. Ocean casino just recently started offering late surrender on all their games. All of the low limit tables ($10/$15 mins) are H17 but they have a bunch of $25 games close to the entrance to the restaurants that are S17 with LS. The lower limit tables were absolutely packed, while the $25 tables had just me and one other guy the whole night. Literally, 5 of the 6 tables were empty. 6D shoe game with a hand shuffle and a pen of maybe 4.2 decks. I’m not great at estimating penetration. Also, it seemed like the pit boss was watching the game pretty closely.

For a $25 minimum, I think that’s the best game in town. I’m not a counter (still practicing with CVCX), but thought there might be interest regarding this new rule. Dealers and pit bosses made it seem like the surrender option wasn’t going away anytime soon.

If people would prefer me to delete this thread, I can.

4.2 out of 6 decks is unfortunately only 70 percent pen, quite bad. LS is nice but good pen is more important.

What are the rules?. People say the rule is secondary to penetration but only if the rules were unfavorable. If the house rules give you an edge I would prefer that over penetration.

I do not think that you will find that situation most anywhere, especially in Atlantic City.

S17 and surrender make it playable.

You're right, the combination of both could make up for the pen, especially when DAS is also allowed.

I played 4.2/6 if I was lucky, with a 4/6 standard on an h17 game today. ES10, DA2, DA2, RSA. The pit put that pen in my way at a min $10 table, but they let me play. Some if the dealers were told to pop it at 3.5/6.

As Goatlife has stated - tolerance is key. I’ll take it easy - I have no expense here - so I won’t stick their nose in it. However, my normal EV allows for tipping, so other than the odd .50 chip, I didn’t bother.

Now - discussion point on bad management decision making. I played about 3.5 hours give ir take, 1 hour heads up, 1 hour with 1 other, and 1.5 hours with 2 others. This shitty pen was standard throughout, as long as I was at the table. One guy lost 1k, the other guy lost 6.4k. I managed a win of $420. My Max bet was maybe 150 a couple if times. I guess it didn’t really matters, since the ploppies were too bad to notice, but occasionally they do, and will complain of bad pen.

Why are you posting this? When word got out about Hard Rock offering surrender it was gone in like a month. The game was completely burned down. Please delete this.
