Sorry to be late to this party, but FWIW, the even money payoff for blackjack is a non-event.

You get four or five naturals per hour and certainly more at the higher counts. So let’s give you two per hour at the $1 bets. You get $2 for them instead of $3, so it’s costing you $1 per hour. Who cares?

It’s also obviously wrong to double on those naturals because you don’t ever have a 100% return on 11.

So just do a normal simulation for the rules and your spread and don’t worry about the even money.

Finally, as stated above, you cannot blindly add 0.5% per count, as using strategy variations adds to that edge, especially at +3, where insurance kicks in.

Hi Don....Thanks for weighing in....So I shouldn't be doubling down for a buck with BJ with a 4, 5 or 6 up?....Also, I use the Silver Fox strategy, which means I'm not supposed to insure until TC +4....Thanks again....ronster

No, absolutely not. Edges for those doubles (on 11) for your game are 57%, 62%, and 67% respectively. You must understand that it's not ever possible to have a 100% e.v. for any double down. So, despite the fact that the above are as high as you can get, they don't come even remotely close to 100%.
