    Consecutive losing sessions

I am not asking about consecutive losing weeks, months or years, just sessions. I have lost 4 in a row, down $2.2k in a week. I am asking about what your experience is, tips on handling them and such.

This is not the first time I have lost 4 in a row. When these losing sessions come along, I start expecting to lose even as I walk in. My usual response is to take a few days off, then go and book small win sessions to get the confidence back. So, I go in, leave when I am up even if it’s just $100 and 10 minutes of playing. I will do 2-3 such short, small win sessions. Is this dumb, walking away just to preserve a win to get confidence back?

I am so fearful of a losing string of sessions that I want to just break it first. I want to get to where win or lose, I keep an unchanged routine, but right now it’s hard. I don’t like walking in, expecting to lose. I like walking in thinking the casino is my ATM.

How many straight losing sessions have you had and what is your tolerance level? When do you decide that maybe taking a break is a good idea?

I walk into a casino thinking I'm going to play correctly. That's my only focus.

Zee, I like post #2 as a good answer. Combining that with quality game selection and playing at slower times, and keep reviewing what Don'S just recently told you.

All above are good points and I am aware of them. They are still theory. Yes, it’s what the goal is but I was interested in experience, how many losing sessions consecutive have you had, when, if ever, did it affect you and more. Was there a period it took before attaining that state where you don’t care about losing (or winning) sessions, period.

Obviously, those would smaller bankrolls or newbies, must deal with losing sessions.

Zee, this is really pathetic, considering how many times you've posted this same thing over the last few weeks. And then there are Don's perfect explanations to you.

Try this: just say to yourself, "they're just chips..."

Thanks 21forme. You are right. I am trying to get to where Don suggested and where most of you are at. I am looking for inspiration and hearing from others about losing streaks how they handled it, how easy or hard it was etc., might help.

Zee, just this year I had 4 consecutive losing sessions in a row followed by 7 consecutive winning sessions. The 4 consecutive losing sessions totaled a loss of $680. The 7 consecutive winning sessions totaled a win of $1,489. The year also started off with 6 consecutive winning sessions.

I think the most losing sessions in a row I had was five, but sometimes just a small win and then a few more losing sessions.

You are right, it was one of those impulsive posting reflecting my being upset at the latest loss and wanting to shake off the negative thoughts.

You can minimize your losses simply by minimizing your wins. Now, to maximize your profits, you’ll have to have to endure big losses along the way.

Some years back, I was trying, as a matter of principle and pride, to break the 10k profit barrier in one month. My previous record high was about $9200. Despite best efforts, for 2 years, I couldn’t break that barrier. The month that it happened, I just didn’t beat the barrier - I absolutely destroyed, annihilated, demolished it. My first session of that month was a $3700 loss. Never would have happened I’d I tried to minimize losses. I did play a lot in those days.

You can't control the order of the cards so from time to time you are going to experience large losses. If you are playing a winning game just keep going, it will turn around.
