From Las Vegas, on going report- Day2

Just returned to my room. Variance went neutral, made mistakes...

Left my home casino for short drive to the Circus Circus casino. Only 8 deck, 6/5 tables, 2 of them and unbelievably both full with boisterous ploppies. I am amazed by the number of folks in this casino on a Saturday morning. Lobby was full of bus travelers, outside, lots of RV in their parking lots, kids running around.

In any case, it was a waste of time as it’s a long walk from parking, thru the stores and shops to get to the casino floor only to find 8 deck, 6/5 tables open. No other tables were open this morning.

Back in my car, drove to another casino on strip for my first trouble. I sat down at the $25 DD table in the HL room as there were no available tables on main floor. One player at table, No MDSE so I am waiting when a mean looking pitboss, comes over, asks for my players card. I say, I had one along time ago, that I don’t get to Las Vegas often. He wants to get me another, I did not want to argue so I give him my DL. He goes to computer, calls someone and next, another pit comes down, both approach me, the second guy smiling, says he remembers telling me not to play at that casino. He says “Don’t try playing BJ here”. I say, I just need my DL back, the other guy hands it to me, I leave. I don’t say a word. I think they checked and found my OSN listing. In retrospect, I should not have handed over my DL.

First day was great, the second is going bad. No play so far, long walks from parking lot to casino floor for nothing, aback off.

Drove down to the Hard Rock casino, my 3rd one with no play. Only 8 deck tables, no one playing this morning. I did like the casino, walked around looking at the Rock heroes on the wall, the guitars and clothes and shoes (Even a pair from Michael Jackson). The music playing there was great. Too bad, no BJ.

I then left the area, went up to a casino off Summerlin Parkway. Unfortunately, this casino is busy later in the day but not in the morning. A $5 table open. Did not play.

It’s 4 casinos, no play so far on my second day.

Drove down to one of the northern most casino, it’s around 11:00. Walked in, unfortunately the pit guy recognized me so I used my Players Card. Again, I had great instant luck. Played $25 min, DD for just 15 minutes, went up $705, left casino.

I did not want to repeat casinos I had visited the first day, so I went back to the strip. I also felt that at the Tropicana Las Vegas Blvd casinos, I would not stand out so there I went. I parked at one of the casinos where you pay to park.

Unfortunately, too many 6/5 tables but it was good to see they were ignored while the 3/2 tables were full. Because of full tables, it was not a good idea to play much. I did play and won $160 at a DD table in about 40 minutes and then left.

I drove back downtown. I had had instant success the first day playing a $5 min, DD table but this time, playing the same aggressive way, I lost $250 in about 20 minutes. My second loss of this trip.

A frustrating bad start to my second day in Las Vegas. I went back to my hotel for a nap.

Left room late (6p.m.), drove to the nearest casino, played $25 min DD for about 40 minutes, won $125. I was not playing rated. The heat was high as I was the only one playing $25 min, DD while other tables with lesser minimums were full.

I then went to a casino I had never been to before off Tropicana north. The one named after a southern city. I was amazed at finding so many people. I had no idea it was so good. Lots of DD games with $5 to $25 min tables. The games were good but my luck seems to have deserted me. I played over 2 hours at several tables, from $5minimum to $25 minimum tables. Left up just $75.

Drove to another casino nearby, the one whose name reminds one of Miami. I played just 25 minutes before a boisterous group joined the DD table which went from me playing alone to all 5-6 spots taken. I just won $65, colored up. The group apologized but I told them I am old and just tired, got to get my sleep.

I returned to my home casino about 2 hours ago. I wanted to book a loss but not as big. I played 90 minutes, lost $600. I played DD, $25 minimum.

I am back in my room finishing this report. This day, I won $300 after minor meal expenses. I only actually played 5 hours. Lots of driving, frustration, a back off. Not feeling that great.

Don’t guarantee it’s still the same, but you’re likely missing a real nice dd game real close to one of your venues. It is so nice, that you should be able to crush it with your modest spread, even less.

And no, I’m not referring to the one that sounds like a Southern city, or like Miami, or the one way North.
