Tried Blackjack for real in the real world for the first time...Help? :/

The other day, I tried a Blackjack game for my first time ever in my Local Casino and I put $5 on Royal Match I believe it was. I got a 9 card. I chose,"Hit," and I got TWO extra cards. I thought I would be getting ONE extra card but with TWO extra cards I ended up getting 25 and losing the $5. WTF? On my Blackjack App, I got only ONE extra card when I said "Hit." Why did the real world game give me TWO extra cards? Had it only given me ONE extra card, I could have won. Help. I'm so confused...

Hard to find the Royal Match machine any more. Anyway, the machine is broken. If you choose "hit", it should give you one extra card only.

Thank you for confirming what I suspected. A "Hit," should have only been ONE card, not TWO extra cards.

Which BJ game pays the 25 to 1? Because the game I played the other day only gave me even money when I decided to try another $5 and the Dealer busted. So I only got 10. My $5 back and an extra $5..

Some versions of Royal Match pay 25 to 1 for a suited King and Queen as your first two cards. House edge on that bet is over 6% so just stick with your main bet unless yo know something extra about the cards to come.

I should really clarify. I actually got two cards from the start, a 2 and a 7, not one card saying 9. I wonder if this particular machine I was at is always set to give two cards each draw. Not malfunctioning, just programmed to do that....

If I understand correctly, when you started the hand, you were dealt two separate cards, a 7 and a 2, for a total of nine? That is how it is supposed to be, yes. Just like in a regular blackjack game with a live dealer, you get 2 cards to start the hand.

When you indicated "hit", you should have only received one card. It sounds like the screen/button is messed up and registered two hits.
