Question about other casinos in Wisconsin Illinois and Iowa

I was at ho chunk (an hours drive for me) back counting a table while pretending to watch a ballgame on a nearby tv. The count went positive (12+) with less than 3 decks left. So I sat down and began to play but I could only bet table minimum and I was winning 90% of the hands. Pisses me off that I could not bet more so I may have to take a road trip. I know of Diamond Joes in Dubuque Iowa, some up in northern Wisconsin and another in Elgin Illinois. Any comments on those casinos?

If you’re forced to bet table min when wonging then play all and insure you play an adequate spread.

Depends on what kind of games you like to play either 6 deck or DD. Zee just gave a report on Diamond Joe's. I do know something about the northern WI casinos, but it depends on how far north you want to go. I don't know anything about the southern WI casinos.

I do like Oneida casino and North Star casino. I haven't played the Menominee Casino in a long time. I get the impression it is more sweaty than North Star, but I never had any problems there. For example, I'm told when the Asians start to talk in their native language Menominee has a fit and prohibits it. No problem at North Star. There are a lot of Asians in the area, and they all have balls. They aren't afraid to put out the big bucks. Sure don't know where they get all the money from, and most are bad players. They come mostly by bus from the Wausau area. There are always buses at North Star casino.

Oneida casino is also pretty good. Again a lot of Asians in the high limit room. Oneida has single deck offered only in the high limit room. The single deck is 3:2 and is only in the high stakes area. Limits start at $15 for one table and $25 for the other. At least that was how it was when I was there back in 2017. If you can get only one or two folks on the single deck game, might be okay, but those Asians show up from out of nowhere. I prefer their double deck game which is my favorite. On my last visit they had one $15 min DD on main floor and $25 min DD in high stakes. On weekends and Packer games higher min limits. I use to get to Oneida quite often, but not so much anymore.

If you go even further north you will get to smaller casinos with limited number of tables. In top tourist season you will be lucky to even get a seat let alone good conditions. Always same old excuse, not enough dealers.
