This is a report from a few weeks back. I landed in Las Vegas one late hot Thursday night. Left on a Tuesday evening the following week. That is, 6 nights and 5 and a half days of play. Rooms were at 3 different casinos, all comped. I decided to play DD only. I played in 15 casinos, 3 on the strip, 3 downtown and 9 others in town. Las Vegas DD is sweaty and playing anonymously makes it worse so early on, I decided to disarm the pit and simply pulled out my Players Card for each casino. There is significantly less scrutiny when using a Players Card initially and if you make sessions short and wins under $1k, rathole s bit, you might get away with it. It’s probably true that you should never play rated but I have a family trip planned for the Christmas break and comped rooms help save a lot. In any case, hope folks do not get on me for playing rated.

I won before expenses, lost if expenses are included, but I had a good time.

Here are my results.

Day one, Friday

I parked in the Planet holiday million shops, got there at 9:00 a.m., parking was easy, shops were still not open but you could see employees getting their stuff ready but surprisingly cheap breakfast was available starting at $5. I walked through and out to Las Vegas Blvd. as I hung a right and started walking, lots of people eating better breakfasts on restaurant patios overlooking the sidewalks, girls in bikini’s or just pasties on their boobs offering people a picture with them, a couple of chippendale type men also doing the same, girls approaching women with make up products...

First stop, casino A, played just 20 minutes at $25 min., and won $520

Walked across intersection to casino B, $25 min. DD, played 30 minutes, won $400.

Walked thru other casinos, 8 deck games, no DD open (maybe they don’t have it on main floors), walked back to car.

Took the short drive to casino I was staying at (Casino C) played $15 minimum DD and won $100.

Great start first morning, took nap and was out again in afternoon. Drove north and played at the northern most fancy casino (Casino D).

$25 min. DD games, played 90 minutes, mostly going nowhere, until a bad round where I had, at a TC3, a split of a $100 bet with a pair of 7’s against a 5, doubled one hand, had $300 on table, dealer had a 6 below
And ended up with 21. After that, I stayed in a hole, I did not recover from. Lost $700, went from a winning morning to a loss.

Upset, I Headed back towards downtown but saw a couple of independent casinos.

At the first one, casino E, I played another 90 minutes and won $600.

Went to the next one, casino F, played a 2 hour session where I lost $400.

I had played a lot in the afternoon, lost. I ended a Day one up $520.

Day 2, Saturday

Decided to play downtown at around 9:00 a.m. Even that early, the Fremont area had its singers, an old large naked woman in a wheelchair with two pasties on her large “udders” and a sign saying she was an old ex-stripper, a magician was showing off to tourists, cops on bicycles etc.

first stop was casino F, the best casino downtown. A frustrating 2 hours later, the $25 min. Table had got crowded and I left up just $95.

Walked up to another casino (casino G) where girls dance on tables in pit area. Only $25 min DD table was in the HL area in an alcove. Had terrible luck, played an hour, lost several max bets, left after losing $1200.

Depressed, started walking back to car, peaked into casino F where I had played an hour earlier. This time, I won $550 in 90 minutes.

Confidence restored, I went back to casino G, played 15 minutes, lost $200.

While returning from downtown, stopped to check out casino H, around Sahara and the Las Vegas blvd. Only one $25 table, played 90 minutes, won just $100.

Then I went sulking back to hotel, down for trip, tried to nap, could not and headed out again. This time to the south of downtown where locals play. At Boulder Highway, casino I, played just 30 minutes, up $520, left feeling better, heading towards Lake Mead. Sat down at casino J and played 90 minutes of $25 DD, heads up and had my biggest loss, $1300.

Went to the best casino on the south side, casino K, played another $90 minutes, went down bad initially, about $2k, and then won back $1900. Still a $100 loss but confidence somewhat restored, I headed back to my room.

At end of Day 2, I had lost $1450. So, Day one I was up $520, day two, I was down $930.

Day 3, Sunday..

Played at casino I was staying at to start the day..won $250 in 60 minutes

Drove south with revenge on my mind, went back to the casino I had lost $1300 the day before. Played 2 hours, at one point I was up almost $1k, thinking I was going to get my revenge but ended up losing yet another $800. I lost the most at this one casino, over $2k.

Drove to the prettier and larger casino where I had been down $2k and recovered all but $100 the day before. Played 90 minutes there, was down again in a hurry (host came down to introduce herself, offered a comped room or dinner, I accepted the dinner comp) but this time, I left ahead $600.

By afternoon, I was up $50 after 4+ hours of play. Went to take a nap.

Later, I headed north and played at the casino where I had won $100 the day before. I played 60 minutes, won $285.

By this time, I was still frustrated. It was beginning to look like a losing trip. Most of the time, I was going down early in sessions, fighting uphill. I gave up for the day.

i was just up $135 for the day, still down $800+ for the trip.

Day 4, Monday..

I could not believe I had lost twice at that casino on the south, down over $2k there, so this morning I headed there. Monday at 10:00 a.m. was quite slow, sat down with 2-3 pit folks with nothing to do but watch me. I dont know whether they could see my losses of the previous two days there because they were closely watching me play heads up.

I was quickly up $325 in about 30 minutes but did not want to burn that chain, so I left.

Went downtown and, for the first time, played $5 SD table (at other times it’s $25 tableI but Monday morning, I took a shot. Sweaty Spanish place. Lost $100 in 25 minutes.

I had thought of playing downtown but it was a hot day and I was not up to walking the 2-3 blocks to the Fremont Experience, so I drove the short drive to the casino near the corner of Sahara and LV Blvd.

I was up $225 for the morning, having won the first session down south and then losing the second at the Spanish place. But, once again I lost $700, had to quit as 3 ploppies joined me at the only DD game that Monday afternoon.

Drove back to the sweaty downtown place, lost another $300 at $10 DD table in 60 minutes.

I was was seriously upset. I was down almost $400. I sulked back to my casino, watched the Monday Night football game.

Without a nap, upset at being down for the trip and unlike previous trips where I carried only a $5k BR, I had a $10k BR and I decided I would risk it. Otherwise why call it a trip BR?

I headed north and played at the furthest casino, north. I had played and lost $700 there on the first day, Friday. This time, I won $1050 in about 45 minutes. I did not want to get in trouble, playing rated, so I cut it short and went downtown.

Played 2.5 hours at the nicest casino there, went up and down, left even.

At the end of day 4, thanks to one good win, I had won $375. For the trip, I was still down almost $500.

Tuesday Day 5, , last half day of play before heading to airport.

Started the day as I had the very first day of play. Went to the biggest shopping mall early, parked and went to play at a CET property. Played 45 minutes, went nowhere, ended even.

drove to a casino off Flamingo, quite sweaty. I played 45 minutes and won $650. Finally, I was in the black, up $150 for the trip.

I drove over down to the one casino, I will name. At Silverton, they were really sweaty. Dealer would call Checks Play on $100 bet, pit would keep glancing at my stack. I was up, had decided to Leave after shoe, lost $200 on a $100 bet I doubled on A,7 versus 3. I got an 8 on my double for a 15, dealer had a 4 below, hit with a ten for a 17. I left down $200.

Last stop further down 215E. They knew me, I had played often there, first shoe and I went for my max bet of $150, won $400 on that first shoe but I did not like the look on the pit guys face. I think he was counting along with me. In any case, I won $400, went to eat and then returned to the airport.

On my last day, I had won $850. For the trip, I won about $400+ in about 23 hours of play. My flight cost was low, about $140. Rental cars were more expensive and cost another $200. My parking at local airport was another $50. Other food, gas and my miscellaneous expenses were another $200. I guess, after expenses I lost about $200 on the 5 day trip.

I started out using the alphabet to describe casinos but gave up in the middle somewhere.

I want to play anonymously in Las Vegas but my chatty personality, height and looks seem to make it difficult. The pit acts like they know I have a card and they ask me for my drivers license saying they will look it up for me if I forgot.

I think I have made too many trips there and should take a long break.

I think I played with a few AP’s. One guy, would spread from $25 to $300 on a TC2, would take phone calls, look totally distracted, be cursing about point spreads and watching the TV screens. He was good. There were some nervous young ones underbetting badly but still counting.

Lots of under dressed young women but, to my old aged eyes, neither sexy not sensual.

Sorry for the long rambling post.
