I'm wondering if it's really feasible (tolerated) to have a spread of 16 in a double deck game.

My sim page is what most often resembles the game I play. I often go higher on my spread. I do know of one casino where it is automatic for the pit to call surveillance anytime someone makes a maximum bet. I had that happen to me several times and I no longer do that.

If you can’t understand why someone is OK with $10 an hour, that is your issue. Some play as a recreational activity because they may already be a billionaire and others play to keep their mind sharp and stave off Alzheimer’s. You may have a need to make $75 per hour, I don’t. You don’t need to figure out why everyone is not like you.

Well said. It's to bad there are such people that know it all and if you do something different they look down on you. These people wish they had your bankroll. Most of these people problem have never played in a casino other then playing on the software. Just wait until they play for real money they will get a rude awakening. Easy to sim something but lets see how you do when you have to shove you $1500 in one hand for splits and double downs. I forgot and you lose.

Honestly I am having trouble making sense of your post. The OP said he thought a $10/hour game was good. I gave my opinion, so what is your problem?
And as others have pointed out...with that N0, and score for a DD game?

Your comments are right on the mark. Further, for those that your comments are directed to - when they lose that big hand with splits and doubles, they tend to leave skid marks in their shirts.

Just to be clear...so your game that you often play...you spread 1-16 on DD? And often go even higher than that?
And in my experience, most casinos are going to call the eits when someone starts playing table max no?

Sure, on a $5 DD 1:16 is only an $80 max bet. Do it all the time. I have gone as high as 1:40 on DD with the pit boss watching by playing two hands at table max of $200. Playing two hands requires doubling table min so $10 is min bet. Come to think of it if things go bad can play table min of $5 so that would be 1:80 spread on DD. Those super max bets are far and few in between.

In fact, one of the last times I did it the pit boss actually encouraged me to do it. Lost the previous large bet and said I think I should double up and win it back. Pit boss said go ahead and do it, so I did. Dealer shouts out table max and everybody is watching. All the excitement is for nothing. I won one and lost the other, but this large betting doesn't happen very often.

Ok so you spread 1-80 on your local DD games? As others have said, then obviously they know you are counting but they just don't care because you are a such a small player.
So I am honestly unclear as to what your point is on this thread that you started...that playing a $10/hour game is good?

I think there's some wisdom in thinking the opposite: that counters aren't foolish enough to make such large bets. That we're somewhat predictable in our max bets of 6x, 10x, 12x.

The biggest bets I've ever seen in casinos were by your typical degenerate gamblers, perhaps with too much money, temporarily at least. Or by clueless whales. I like the idea of MWP's strategy given the right circumstances.
