Observation: Order of Dealer Pick-up Procedure Seems to Have Changed

It's been awhile since I have visited here.

Has anyone else noticed that it looks like now, the majority of online and perhaps 'brick and mortar' dealers scoops up her/his cards first and then uses these cards to scoop up the players' cards, starting with the player farthest to the right?

Previously (i.e., a couple of years ago), it seemed that the majority of dealers would scoop up the players' cards first, starting with the player farthest to her right, and then would end by scooping under her cards to pick up her cards?

I even saw one dealer fairly recently alternating how she picked up the cards. For one round, she would scoop up her cards first, and for the next round, she would scoop up the players' cards first, etc.

1) Does anyone know why this change in pick-up procedure (i.e., the dealer picking up her cards, not the players' cards, first) has happened?

2) How does your favorite casino do it?

The purpose of following a regulated pick up procedure, among other things, is to be able to definitively reconstruct a hand in the event if a dispute. If a dealer is randomly changing the prescribed order of card pick up, then the purpose if the procedure is defeated.
