And you waste your time "counting" for a measly 1% or so while we crush the game at 8-9% or so. You're right, people have different objectives at blackjack.

Of course, you are not including the roof shoveling profession which likely receives $75 K and up.

Nay, not $75,000 more like $100,000. This last winter I paid $47 per man hour worked and on a 2,080 hour work year that comes to $97,760. and that is below the going rate. They were even so generous as to include a few of my singles in the snow pile.

Of course, Marquette is always ranked as one of the best small towns to live in USA, beating out such places as Jackson Hole WY.

Well that is pretty sad then, it's seriously the largest city there?
Must be a pretty sad town...my guess would be that 21K per year is damn close to the poverty line no?
It's not 1960 anymore, so what you made when you were 20 has no relevance to this discussion.
These days I would guess high school kids probably make $10/hr at McDonald's during their summer break.
Why would Zee or anyone else waste their time in casinos making $10/hr? Jesus, we only get one life to live.

Well then keep on crushing your 8-9% there genius. So your point is what exactly? That all BJ counters are stupid?

That is just $10 an hour. Biggest win is $500, biggest loss is $800.
my point is that they track me, feel it’s a waste of time to counter measure someone, piss off other players when I am simply passing time, ploppies like me (and bet on my side bets) as do dealers. The amount I am winning is not sufficient enough for them to get concerned about. "

Counting Is Fun, sorry you missed the point, as you swung and missed strike one.

Counting, now you missed MWP point, swing, and a miss strike two.

    BoSox:

On your last point of view Counting, it was an off-speed pitch which you swung and missed by a mile. Strike three go back to the dugout.

In the first example, ZeeBabar who at times gives the wrong advice simply does not need the extra income from blackjack. He has a good pension. Earning an extra $10 an hour socializing while having fun occupying his time is more than sufficient for him. Either way it's his life.

In MWP's response about how people around where he lives do not sneeze at $10 an hour, and the annual average income in Marquette is just over 21K annually. You responding with poverty remarks and people living in sad situations I believe may be way off base here. I bet the cost of living there is low for almost everything, and, people live contented within their means. I bet there is plenty of bartering of goods and services going on for extra income. I am willing to bet the debt level per family living there is low or better than other areas of the country.

ShipTheCookies, was making a point, "that you obviously missed" not bragging. I believe that his point meant do not look down on other peoples situations, or circumstances, because there are plenty of people doing better than you.

Wow you took a deep dive critique into my comments. I see your point in some, but not in others.
It sure doesn't seem to me like Zee has been happy lately playing his local games now for $10/hr... that's how I read his recent comments anyway.
I do know he is retired and claims to just play for fun, but until recently he always said he made some good money playing BJ.
Either way to each their own I guess. It's just hard for me to understand people that actually enjoy spending their time in casinos while not making any money. With this one life we all get, well I would want to be just about anywhere else besides a casino. I wasn't demeaning Zee, I like the guy.

As for ShipTheCookies response...it sure read like bragging to me haha. And your interpretation of it...ehhh. More power to him, but I don't really think there are that many BJ players in the US that consistently play long-term to 8-9%...but hey I'm mostly just a salamander.

You have to get out of the immature mind set that everyone should be like you or there is something wrong with them. For me, a couple of my local casinos are like the bar in “cheers”. Drop in, see familiar faces, hang out a bit and go home, same as someone stopping off for “happy hour”.

I never made that much playing BJ, but the $10k per year is supplemental income. I happen to enjoy playing in casinos, people watching, and hanging out. I see some people coming with intent to make money and when they don’t (after all there is variance), you can see their frustrations, their irritability, throwing down their cards, or making spiteful comments towards the dealer, the ploppies etc.

I take BJ trips but it is fore more than just playing BJ, it’s different cities, different people, different scenery, it’s partly like going on vacation. It gives my family a break from me as well If I cover just expenses, it’s fine. If I make $10 an hour, that’s better.

People led don’t understand why I might go on a trip and quit playing BJ if I am up or down $2-$3k. If I lose $2-3k on a 5 day trip to Las Vegas, I can return without carrying frustration and a bad mood home. If I lose, say $5k plus, then the journey back home is tough, family might see my mood and the loss of confidence is bad too. If I am up $2-3k on my trip to Las Vegas, I quit, reward myself (show, massage, etc) etc. and go home pleased.

Everyone has different personalities, needs and their limits.

Calling yourself "mostly" just a salamander is rather modest coming from you, with all the ambition and dreams that you have. Are you not the guy that is planning to open up his own blackjack Bootcamp? That also includes a course on how to respect, and intermingle and get along with casino employees to cut down "supposedly" on barrings. If you succeed in your dream you will be making money hand over fist, much more than 8-9%. Don't renege on that 50% discount that you promised me.

Zee where have I said everyone should be like me? If you like playing for basically nothing and hanging out in casinos...then reread my previous post...more power to you.

BoSox...I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.
But hmmm maybe that isn't the worst bootcamp idea?
Anyway, good variance to you my man.
