I will pick up a copy of the book, as I also aspire to play on a National level. Vegas itself is a mere 5 hour drive away for me.

Lost Vegas is a fool's paradise at best. Great spot for poker but a cesspool for BJ. Intend to play low stakes? Prepare for the 6/5 whammy.

As a poker pro I assure you outside of the wsop March madness and a couple other 1-2 week periods a year Vegas sucks for playing any meaningful stakes

Vegas is also super sweaty for blackjack

However each of my last few trips ive gotten 20-40 hours of double deck bj ,getting backed off a few times each trip

If I was going to be a blackjack pro I would not move to Vegas but it's good for me taking a few trips a year where I don't care too much about being backed off

If I had to move to Vegas for bj I would definitely play more shoes and try harder to avoid backoffs

At this time, I have no plans to move from Utah County Utah. As such, I will mostly play in Wendover, saving Vegas for when I'm ready to run something like a 25-100 spread, which should mostly lift me away from a 6/5 whammy.

Maybe don't be so specific with where you live and what spread you plan to use?

Hi Tom, After got couple tabs from local casinos with "you can play anything but BJ" I am contemplating to learn poker. Please recommend books, websites/forums or anything that teach/share how to survive in poker rooms. Sometime I played UTH but was told that in poker room you play against other players with many things that have nothing to do with your cards??? Your help is greatly appreciated
