    Backoff after one month.

A month ago, I wrote about how at the Virgin River Casino in Mesquite Nevada, a pit boss looked through the discard pile after I raised my bet way up to $150 for the next hand when running was +5 and true was +3.5 or +4. I lost that hand and walked out after a few more. I returned today, played one hand and a pit boss said to me "LugiaLvl138, you are not allowed to play Blackjack here or at the Casablanca." I'm guessing they marked my Players Card. I probably should have played unrated, especially because the comps are terrible compared to Wendover.

    Yup
Regardless, you were on the shit list, and sooner or later, someone would have recognized your mug.

Oh, and by the way, with that excellent time description you gave, they may well know both your real name and handle.

First mistake was probably giving the pit boss your handle name on BJTF. That'll tip them off every time that you're counting.

No one would be that foolish, right? Unless I'm missing something, if he referred to him by his handle it must have been because the PB read the story, giving far too much detail, here.

I would hope not. I think I've been active enough the past month people know my sense of humor. Maybe not.. I'm just adding some lighthearted humor to the posters unfortunate story.

The pit boss addressed me by my real first name, not by LugiaLvl138. I just don't want my real name on these forums. Also, my non counting buddy was escorted from the casino, likely due to having my same address.

Notoriously sweaty shop. Also a database participant.

CBJN says Quick to Back Off and Data Participant. Also says managed by South Point. Three reasons to play unrated at these two casinos.

I was super impressed by the pit boss addressing you by LugiaLv138. What a dedicated reader of this forum he is. Now it is just another pit boss in another casino doing his job because he got your real first name from your casino card.

So you raised your bet with the count "way up to" $150 lol...with a players card...and you are confused how the pit knew your first name?? Come on guy.

    LugiaLvl138,

Well, you were warned by several posters here after you posted a month ago about the PC looking through the discards. At this point, all you can do is stop using the players card and give them a year or so to forget your face.

You might gain some useful insights about low-stakes counting from a book entitled "The Blackjack Insiders" by Andrew Uyal. Uyal was a PC (ironically, at both Virgin River and CasaBlanca in Mesquite) who, along with his boss, formed a two-man card-counting team that played across the U.S. In the book he discusses the pros and cons of using players cards, along with several other topics of concern to counters.

    Hope this helps!
