SD games are obviously the best given good rules, however, they will generally be watched like a hawk. A lot of players play shoe games because they say it's better for longevity and are not watched as closely. What is your go-to game? Do you prefer to take your chances with more heat on SD/DD, or do you generally play more shoe games?

I generally prefer SD, but it really depends on where you play. In Northern Nevada, where there is lots of SD, the games are not watched any closer than others. In Las Vegas....the El Cortez will sweat every bet. More important is the ability to play heads up and get decent pen. Even if they have the same rules, I will play DD in one store, and maybe 6D at the casino next door. My goal is to play with fewer players and with better pen, not so much how many decks.

Only SD game by me that isn't 6:5 is a single round and shuffle up. Maybe two round if heads up. Surprised the casino offers it, since they get so few rounds in an hour.

Of course your first choice should be 2D. But most casinos these days only offer 6D and 8D. If I play at Las Vegas, I play 50% 2D and 50% shoe game. At the eastern casinos, 100% shoe game.

I play mostly 2D because where I mostly play for longevity, I think it's actually less heat than 6D.
On 6D I never see any ploppies spreading say 1-15 or even 1-10 really.
On 2D I DO see ploppies spreading say 1-6 or even 1-10 or more. So with a little cover and act, I think 2D makes more sense where I play. Easier to blend in as a ploppy.
