    Shortcut to NO

I am not too worried about my NO because I know I will get there in this recent venture. I am sure I am several over after many decades of play. But please correct me if I am wrong but I would seriously, no trolling, speculate that games played by exact casino rules at home should count toward your NO. The cards don't know where you are playing and it is all the same. Please tell me why not. I have a feeling Don will disagree but I would just like to know. Why not a shortcut to NO???

Now that is a stretch, but I suppose your wife could bar you from the premises.

Don't forget to count the hands played while dreaming about blackjack. Btw it's N0 (en zero), not NO (en oh).

Cuts you up, I don’t think you understand what N0 is. I honestly don’t understand what you’re asking.

Is that a soft backup or a hard barring?
Seriously though to the OP - are you playing online or are you playing casino verite? Further, if online, same rules, what is deck pen on your actual casino play versus deck pen on online play, as there will certainly be a difference.

If all of this plays out, I would calculate 2 seperate n0’s - and almost certainly, your n0 will be far better on actual casino play versus online play.

Last, but not least, I agree with Ryemo - I’m not sure that you understand what n0 means

I read it about ten more times and understand what he's saying. I've seen the idiocy before.

How better to put this... unless you have the ability to take advantage of an edge that presents itself, you're not affecting n0. You can't play on the computer and make a dent in n0.

People actually wonder why there aren't more counters.

Refinery exactly. By the OP's logic, then all BJ hands being played anywhere in the world would count towards his NO?
    Lol umm no.
It's sort of scary the people who start playing this game with no basic knowledge of simple math or intuition.

Well, you've read all of the above, but I'll try. N0 defines a number of hands to be played (presumably in the real world!) such that, if you were to incur a one standard deviation loss, you would break even and not lose any money.

If you choose to play all of these hands on a simulator, are you asking for "credit" for them, when you now walk into a real casino? If you now begin your real play with some meaningful losses, do you want to claim that something is "wrong," because, well, you've already played, say, 25,000 hands on a computer, so you're "owed" that time and should no longer be losing in the real casino?

Do you not understand how utterly absurd such a notion is?

N0 is the number of hands required at a given EV level to overcome one negative standard deviation.

I consider the "long term" to be N0 at 2 standard deviations, a much more onerous task.

All that other stuff is noise.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

Thanks for the feedback and yes I know very well what N0 is, thank you. I dont think I stated my hypothesis is a clear manner perhaps. The computer for example is a data collection tool that can predict what your real play outcome should be by "playing" billions of hands using the input you feed it, i.e. indices, rules, spread, min/max etc. All I am saying is that if you are using your casino results to get enough data to say yes I am a winning player within x certainty as I have played y number of hands and amassed one, or if you wish two, standard deviations of profit and that gives me some certainty I play a winning game as my profit is greater than the deviation, then simple play at home with all factors being equal provides results that are in no way different from the casino provided your playing decisions are identical and all other factors are the same.
