To the AP Player who spoke at DefCon this weekend

Not sure if you are an active member on this board or not, but I wanted to say that your hour long talk about your career of Advantage Play was amazing, the 2nd best talk I attended. (Best was the facial recognition talk, sorry!)

Thank you for giving back to the community and speaking on topics such as backoffs, native casinos, AP moves other than card counting, and your 17 year career of being an AP.

As an aspiring card counter, I thought it was invaluable, and I'm sure many in the crowd didn't realize some of the more subtle things you mentioned. (And I'm sure I missed some things also!)

I hope you enjoyed your time at DC27, enjoyed the Verbal Stenography talk afterwards, and didn't connect to the WiFi!

I'd love to know who it was. Pseudonym or whatever.

Correct, but she posted her name and introduced herself as "rxgamble", so I went with that.

Oh yeah, she's excellent. If you would like to compliment her, I suggest Twitter: @rxgamble. She's very active.

Neither are her real name :-). She is pretty notorious and has some great road stories, there is a GWAE Podcast with Bob Dancer and Richard Munchkin where she is the guest which is excellent. Hear it or download it at

Yes, she used to post on BJ21 many many years ago as Miss Brown. She doesn't post much on public forums all that much anymore except Twitter.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
