Looking for Confirmation on Wendover Rule Change

I came across this on Trip Advisor dated July 2019. It says only double on 9, 10, 11. I know they did this once before, but are they doing it again? The Aug 2019 CBJN still indicates the good old rules.

Damn, it looks like the above report is true. I just checked out the Wendover's casino web page and it says double only on 9, 10, 11. So much for that fall trip I was thinking about.

Sounds like they don’t want Tarzan coming back in and doubling his King-6 against the Dealer’s 2.

Speaking of bad doubling, on one of my recent blackjack trips I witnessed the worst blackjack player of my life. He would double on all the bad hands, but not double on the good hands. The hand that took the cake was a double on a hard 16 against the dealer up card of 7. Of course he lost. Good hands like 11 vs 4 he would not double on.

I’ve stopped thinking that I’ve just seen the worst blackjack player ever - just wait a bit, and someone worse always comes along.

And I’ve seen otherwise really intelligent guys make absolutely the dumbest plays. Mind you, this one critter who knows what I’m dounfpg told me that a particular dealer thought I was an idiot. He obviously dealt to me making various index plays. How delightful.

The worst I've seen in a native store was some jerk Rabbi doubling a hard 17 vs A. He snagged a 4-skin!

A few comments in no particular order.
    1. What makes you think he was a jerk
    2. It clearly wasn’t Shabbos (Saturday fir heathens)
    3. There’s more skin with foreskin
    4. He clearly went to Minyan that morning

I already doubled a hard 20, but I knew the next card was an Ace.

I'd like to do this at cheap table. Just to see the faces of the dealer and other players.

Why cancel the fall trip? Even with d9, it's still the best blackjack venue in the country.
