To the proficient card counters out there...

What is stopping you from traveling the country for a year or so and making a damn good income? Counters who travel and play around the country and world have the potential to make more money in one year than most people make in 5 years. What downsides of this is holding you back?

You ever hear the expression it takes a million to make a million? Same probably applies to this. For someone that's twenty years old living at home, probably very well could do this because they have nothing to
lose and a safety net. A grown man with a mortgage, car payment, wife, kids etc.. would realistically need to have a couple years living expenses in the bank not counting the a monster bankroll. It would be
foolish for someone like me to walk away from my business, clients and contacts to pursue this full time. Everyone has an expiration date in this game, unless you don't mind dealing with nasty casino staff and
constantly calling the police or gaming commission when the casino starts using illegal tactics against you. This is just my opinion, I'm neither an expert counter nor someone with decades of experience playing
    high level blackjack.

You been sold a bunch of crap. It’s like asking to buy a lottery ticket (the expenses of travel) for a chance to win millions. Your odds of success are not much better.

Zee, you’ve missed the boat. Ma Nishtana?

For a person so motivated and skilled, with sufficient bankroll working (BJ) 20-30 hours over 5 days, resting a solid 2 days over a 7 day expense week - a very nice living could be had working 40 weeks a year.

    Please note the qualifiers.

Watch 'Inside the Edge' to see the reality of something similar. Available on demand. You're right though, it can be done but as others have said, you need a solid bank to earn the amount you allude to.

Yep, I've watched it. Great documentary.

Hmm, and the Lord posted over. Comes from the holiday of Postover, where we reject comps and other freebies.

And why is your post any different from a zillion others that relate to me. Jeez, I thought therapy helped you get over the Zee obsession.

Zee, you missed the pun here, which is not surprising, given your background and your inability look something up on your own, including using Google. I don't understand why Freightman directed towards you, as I'm sure he knew you wouldn't get it.

This isn't about you or me. Your obsession thinking people are obsessed with you is absurd.

I did once thought one person was obsessed with me, if he isn’t, then I am relieved.

In that case, you are right. When I started, before I retired, I was not going to devote much time to BJ, just count, increase or decrease bets accordingly. I took the abuse for being lazy, learnt or deduced most of my mistakes from the forum.

Now, I have CVCX but still know little about using it other than to get optimal betting ramps. Will spend more time figuring it out.

You need balls - you need stamina - and you need DISCIPLINE. Something tells me you’ll tilt.

I've decided to play an even stronger system than yours. I now keep track of how many of each card has been played while counting the shoe down on a card by card basis for 100% accuracy. No more basic strategy since I now have the ability to calculate the best move by running all the calculations of each card remaining in my head. I also do all this while taking double shots and constantly telling jokes to the players and dealer.
