What "act" do you use to try to avoid detection from the pit?

I'm new to counting and I hear so much about having an act, but I'm not sure exactly what that entails. What is your act, how do you execute it, and does it work well for you, and how dedicated are you to it? Do you change it depending on the different circumstances at different casinos? Etc.

Don't be a young white male (rip me).

Go to a casino and people watch at the table. Act like them.

Don’t worry about “act” till you graduate from red chips to a Green Chips or get your first back off. Playing red chips, you might get looks and glares every now and then. Ignore it.

If you really are an AP then you are probably fairly smart...but don't act smart at the table. Don't use your vocabulary etc. Don't tell people how to play their hands and act all confident because you know it's the right play. I say basically act friendly but not smart.
Some AP's prefer not to talk much at all...mysterious...is he dumb or just quiet?
Some act like they're wealthy and don't care about the money etc.
Some act pissed off every time they lose a hand.
Whatever you do, don't look like a robot who stares at the cards and never talks.
And when you do lose a big bet...at least act a little bothered by it.
There are many different acts...honestly I don't really know what approach is best in certain situations.

So my act mostly is a friendly player even with dumb ploppies...I talk and act like having fun...but not too much talking. Sometimes I hit the bar and act a bit drunk but don't over do the drunk guy act, I think that's a tell when you continue to play perfectly etc..
I try to escape the table in negative counts when possible...so I am a pretend smoker and step away from the table.
I think the pit notices when you are friendly to other players etc, and I think that buys you some good graces with the pit...at least for awhile.
I'm interested in others act too.

Show up all disheveled, hair messed up, wrinkly clothes, old worn out untied shoes. Everytime your max bet loses fist slam the table and work up some watery eyes. I don't do this, but I bet it would be one hell of an act ha ha.
To really top this off play like degenerate the first shoe (brag about just settling some big lawsuit or something to justify the sudden gambling funds)). After losing, loudly ask "Where is the closest ATM". Then come back spreading wide and you'd look like a gambler desperately chasing losses. Surveillance and the pit crew wouldn't even waste there time doing a skills check. Of course, nothing would be more embarrassing than running into an ex girlfriend or old friend when putting this show on

you think this works , maybe for a few places . Act is overrated. You can be robotic and not talking much but still be able to play .. some cover and techniques still need to be employed .

You want a good act, put out a three-unit bet and start sweating profusely just like ZeeBabar does naturally.

Lol. Though I rarely sweat, was never much of a perspired, even when I used to get more exercise 30 years ago.

"Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck" is my guide line but it lasts for awhile as sooner or later they figure out base on your bet/play and win/lost record at casinos you are regular. I believe the floor persons at my local did not know I am counter because when I got the taps their faces looked disbelieve.
