I don't even see how seconds could be dealt out of a shoe at least as an advantage for the dealer. For the reason of not being able to see the top card and make the quick decision of dealing a second. I guess the shoe itself could be rigged with a mirror or something to give the dealer a quick glance, but I'd rather not even waste my mental power thinking down this path.
This is some really interesting information. Have fun.

For what it's worth, it's not a mirror but a prism. Helps my understanding in how it works.
I watched some last night. I guess it's not so far fetched. I still think the odds of running into this at a regulated place is close to nill. Maybe some privately owned place off the beaten path
on the brink of insolvency would try this, but still unlikely. If anything rotating in a short shoe for a few hours would be better so there isn't any smack dab in your face evidence if caught.
I'd like to think the gaming commissions do there job to prevent this stuff by doing unannounced audits, but I've yet to encounter a shoe being counted down in the middle of a busy Saturday night.
Maybe this is wishful thinking. Either way, like mentioned in my last comment, I'd rather not waste energy worrying about this. The game is hard enough without the addition of paranoia.
