    St. Louis in 2019?

Is St. Louis a good place to play in comparison to the rest of the country? It is my closest city. I have been training for the last 8 or so months and about to put my skills to the test shortly. Would a 1-5 bet spread from $25-$125 gain a lot of attention? Any advice for a new player?

St Louis is the most dangerous city in the entire country.

I don't care about getting shot, I care about playing a winning game of blackjack!

First, St. Louis is not the most dangerous city. Unlike other cities, St. Louis city is small because almost all it’s suburbs do not want St. Louis to govern them and thus It’s suburbs, Chesterfield, Clayton, Ladue, Ballwin etc, all under 10 miles from downtown St. Louis are not included in the census. They are their own cities with police, mayor, etc. Thus, St. Louis is shown as a declining city (now 23rd or so in the USA) when with its suburbs. It should be in the top 12.

Second, it distorts statistics because the crimes are also mostly in St.Louis city as currently defined, a small area which is highly minority and poor, governed poorly, it’s officials mostly incompetent as most better educated people only work downtown, live in suburbs that are cities of their own.

Finally, only 2 casinos are in THAT city, Ameristar is in St. Charles, Hollywood is in Crete Couer.

Now, to BJ, yes the $25 to $125 spread works, provided you don’t bet same amount same TC, provided you dont become a “regular”. The DD games are in HL rooms (Ameristar and Hollywood and River City).

The 6 deck games are decent and on main floor so, if you are going to play often, make DD games short (under 40 minutes, maybe less), play red chip 6 deck games often and use a good act.

Thanks for the response. I've been to Ameristar as a casual (losing) gambler. Yeah the crime stats in STL are pretty distorted given that the county and city are separated. Any opinion on the Lumiere downtown? I've heard mixed opinions about its games but I've never been there.

What do you mean "don't bet same amount same True Count". Do you mean slightly vary your betting amount even when you have the same TC?

You still make some dumb comments, however, the last month or so, you’ve made quite a few good ones. There is a hidden gem in the post I’m replying to.

What is it? Why is it a gem? What are the caveats of it being a gem. What would you change to make it a better comment? You’ll be evaluated, so give it your best effort

Remember, sexual harassment will not be tolerated, however, it will be graded - oh, that belongs elsewhere.

Lumiere used to have very good penetration but it no longer does. 6 deck is about 70%, DD is about 50-55% with no soft doubling, double 9-11 and no double after splits.

Hollywood and Ameristar are better and much less heat on main floor. River city is good as well, probably the best penetration on 6 deck anywhere (though I believe their ASM are programmed and it’s not random). Penetration is about 1/2 deck of a 6 deck shoe!

DD at both Hollywood and Ameristar requires good act and strategy. What I meant is that you cannot be automated, always start shoe at $25, always bet same amount at each increase in TC, etc.

No idea what you are referring to. Much of everything I say is dumb, ask the two who stalk me. They will be posting on this thread soon.

Freightman, I am old and dumb. I have no clue what you mean about “gems”. Is it comments about the city, about BJ, about a specific casino.

I haven't been on your case in probably a year. Do you want me to start in on you again? Why are you stirring up trouble?

Zee, i think Freightman may be referring to your betting.
Being consistently inconsistent is actually a good consistency.
