Encore Boston sued for 6:5, plaintiff says law required games be 3:2

The law clearly allows 6 to 5. I wonder what this stunt is all about. I'll have to get a copy of the actual complaint to see.

While I'm a huge fan of space, you might want to double check your first link. It currently links to an Apollo 11 story.

Maybe this will serve as a wakeup call for the public to not play 6:5? Or, the opposite will happen. The courts will uphold 6:5 being legal, and more casinos will turn to 6:5 games...

Lawsuit or not the ploppies will still play. As I recall mass law required 6:5 games to be dealt from a CSM, and permitted only 3:2 games to be dealt from a shoe.

Only speculating here, but non-spanish 21, non blackjack switch and other variations - what i can only call a general catchall section for blackjack, under 146.13(3),(4) says Blackjack must be labeled as 3:2 and if not, then 1:1.

Some clown may be trying to get them on the hole in the law that doesn't allow for 6:5 labeling under 146.13...if that's the case, they have no case.

Obviously the intent of the law given references to it is to allow 6:5.

Following the last link, I get the message
Sorry, this content is not available in your region

I hope this holds for 6:5, too :-)

Did you see this? The Globe and Herald have it too.

6:5 is allowed but strictly limited to certain games in Massachusetts. Real Blackjack must pay the According to the Rules 3:2. They can't mix and match at the tables. Someone needed to take action, legal action is good action, let's support their efforts.

    * The 6:5 scam is the crux of the lawsuit in Boston, and tricking/fooling/cheating the public is the modus operandi. *** Finally, maybe we can generate some public awareness of this global deception.

    Ole

The lawsuit also alleges that the casino is "Rounding Down" on slot tickets and not paying the coin change... Pure Greed

The machines return the change as another voucher which you take to the cage or back to the slots. The casino does not keep it.

The lawsuit alleges they are keeping just the "coin change" (anything to the right of the decimal point). If you get a slot ticket for $43.80, they pay you $43.
This is what it alleges, how accurate it is, I don't know.

in that case, it seems like the plaintiffs are saying people get the change voucher from the machine and have zero idea what to do with it. we know most gamblers are a dim group, but that seems like a stretch.

and they're probably ascribing some ill intent such that the casino in this way makes it intentionally difficult for people to get their change, so as to steal from them.
