    House Money side bet

Anybody know of a house edge calculation for the House Money side bet? This bet pays for a pair or straight on players first 2 cards, with the option of adding the money to the players BJ bet.
Don S I don't want your head to explode, but look into this.

I play side bets at my local casinos now as part of my ploppy camouflage.

It's easy enough to figure the probability of a pair or a straight, but you don't say what the payout is. Is this it? https://www.jacksoncasino.com/house-money-side-bet

Regrettably i didnt commit the pay table to memory. They did have separate payouts for a straight flush and suited AK blackjack as in the site you reference, so let us assume it is the same. You must also consider the bj bet boosting factor when calculating the house edge, no?

    snakeplisskin,

If you use HiLo to count, and you have Green Chip access over at bj21, you should check the following post for the indexes for whether or not you should "add" after winning the sidebet:

    https://bj21.com/boards/green-chip-f...itive-ev-hands

As an example, with T9 vs. the dealer's X, the "adding BS" is to add, but as the bj21 post shows, if the HiLo TC is +6 or higher, then you should NOT add, as in that case the 19 vs. X matchup is no longer +EV.

    Hope this helps!
