You should never have a problem with TSA carrying any amount of cash. The amount you carry is none of their business, though they can inspect the cash for hidden contraband. Ask for a private screening as you don’t want people to see large amounts of cash that you are carrying.
Currency declarations are not required for intra USA travel, however, declarations to US customs prior to leaving the USA when carrying 10k USD is required. Further, currency declarations when entering Canada are required when entering carrying 10k CAD. The reverse is also true.
You should always check currency regulations for whatever country you are travelling to or from.
