Gambling Tip for Folks Who Fly CWA Airport in WI

The guy on the plane sitting next to me gave me this tip.

Ho Chunk casino in Wittenberg will give $50 in free play if you bring in your boarding stub within 7 days of your flight. I didn't know this and it is not listed on their web site. Ho Chunk only has electronic blackjack tables and you will need a players card to get the free play, but for me it was a good deal since I drive right past the casino on my way home. Also since I never had a Ho Chunk card I got another $10 for signing up.

Why did you recommend to me the Ho Chunk casino if they don’t have countable dealer dealt BJ games.

Isn't the Ho Chunk in Wisky Dells or Baraboo? Or is there a second Ho Chunk?

Zee, there are several Ho Chunk casinos located across south and central WI. I recommended the Ho Chunk in Black River Falls not Wittenberg. The largest Ho Chunk casino is in the WI Dells near Baraboo. Ho Chunk Black River Falls has regular DD games. Wittenberg only has slots and electronic blackjack, but about 16 miles down the road is North Star casino with 10 blackjack tables with 8 of them being DD games.

Funny. Made me spit out my drink.

Video BJ is a great way to play off FP. Lower variance than VP. You just need to alter your strategy a little because basically a push is a win.

I sure didn't know this. I played 8/6 JOB with my $60 free play which was the best they had, and I only ended up winning $20 on the video poker.

I had high expectations for this trip and everything went to hell. I lost at blackjack on 4 of the 5 days I played. My session win rate for the year dropped from 80% to 60%, and my hourly win rate for the year dropped almost in half. However, considering I lost on 4 days I guess I can't complain too much since my total net blackjack loss for the trip was only $647, but with expenses it was a little over a $1,000. I did mange to get 24.5 hours of blackjack play time, but I was so exhausted on the last day that I only played an hour.

I had a couple of really interesting things happen on this trip, but I can't talk about them as they could identify me. Maybe in six months I can talk about it.

Playing Video Blackjack to "convert" free play to cash is the best means since the house edge is usually less than 1% and where the house edge for 8/6 Job is likely 4-6% with a huge variance. However, if you are looking to continue receiving free play, then playing off on low theoretical machines does not offer much help to your play records. Converting all the free play at maximum rates will soon get you no more free play.

As usual, it is important to consider all the consequences when making an AP move.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

8/6 JoB is 98.3927% return with optimal play. Variance is 19.34
