Looking for Information on Running Aces Casino in MN

Has anyone played at Running Aces casino in MN lately. I'm thinking it might be a good casino destination, and for me Seven Winds casino and Turtle Lake casino would be good stops along the way. They are in the process of building a hotel so might wait until that is done before making a trip.

Anyway, I checked CBJN and it looks like the report is several years old. I actually called them awhile back and they have both 6:5 and 3:2 games and I thought they said all their games have surrender. Can anyone confirm if all their games have surrender? If so this would be kind of unusual for a DD game which they do have. I'm just wondering if the person I was talking to got surrender and insurance mixed up since CBJN has no mention of surrender.

Anyway, I'm sick of Indian casinos and thought this might be a refreshing change as I wouldn't mind seeing some horse racing also. Anyone know if they are fairly tolerant of good blackjack players?

PS. Zee, I'm waiting for you to make that upper Midwest trip, and then you can tell us all about it. Running Aces was on the list I provided for you.

Zee, you mentioned you like DD games so I would look for casinos that have DD games. If I was you I would head north on highway 61 and make my first stop at Mark Twain casino. Maybe you already played there as it isn't that far from your home base. It is a MO casino so they can't back you off. Then continue on US-61 up to Davenport and play Isle of Capri. Then Head up to Diamond Joe's in Dubuque. Go up into WI and check out Ho Chunk casino in Black River Falls. Then up to Turtle Lake WI and continue to follow my list of casinos I provided for you before.

As of a couple years ago policy is no backoffs, trespass on first offense. Main floor a lot of 6/5 some 3/2 maybe only 6d for 3/2? I think 100-200 max. “High limit” is 25-300 limits, 4d and DD. 4d HL game I played had surrender can’t comment on others, and again this is a bit dated. I believe I played the 4d because DD had ndas and 4d a bit better cut iirc. Based on MWP’s hours per backoffs I think he’d be fine there, but they are definitely not appreciative of spreading to multiple hands of table max with positive variance, ymmv. Probably won’t tolerate low-mid 4 figure wins that well.

Played there last year. Their highest limit table was a $300 max DD in their “high limit” area. It’s a pretty good game. Lost a couple thousand and was backed off shortly after. They tried handing me their generic trespass letter that they give to all counters, but I walked passed the guy and didn’t acknowledge him because I knew what he was trying to hand me.

Turtle Lake St Croix has decent games too. Only two of their tables is a $500 max I believe, the rest are $100 or $200 IIRC. I got to play 2 full-day marathons there. I was backed off on my 3rd day before I could even start playing after booking a large win on day 2 and walking with all of my chips. They forced me to CTR even though I wasn’t trying to cash out. They told me that they knew I walked off the property the night before with more than 10K in chips. I know they can’t really legally do that, but they were going to ban me if I didn’t comply anyway. Right after CTR, they immediately looked me up in OSN and was politely backed off.

    Folks,

Last time I played Mark Twain casino was on a weekday afternoon. At that time, the DD table was not open. So, if you're planning to play DD, I'd recommend calling ahead to find out when DD is offered.

    Hope this helps!

Like really, this is no more than a semantic difference.

Such states will still make your attempts at playing for
profit a waste of time, a la all of the East Coast casinos. z\

Agree, but at least you won't be escorted out by security. It should be a less stressful situation.

Turtle Lake St Croix was one of my 5 back offs. I was playing rated at the time, but I'm pretty sure I can return without any problems since this backoff happened way back in 2003. In fact, I was only flat betted and it was very polite. The manager even explained what flat betted meant. At the time, I lost almost $900 the previous day and was down almost another $200 the next day when it happened. I wasn't really betting that big, but was switching between one hand and two and sitting out completely negative counts. It taught me a good lesson. I hoped in the car and drove 60 miles to their sister casino in Danbury WI and played there.

I have played aces it's not bad. The side bets helped slow the game down for me when I was first getting started but that makes the game just a little too slow for me now... the pen is good I've seen anywhere from a deck to 1.5 cut off on average. Mostly on the higher end of that range. Table color means everything red felt is 6:5 purple isnt. Never really checked out the high stakes area since I can't really afford to red chip. Never really found the place to have enough open tables to pique my interest I tend to move around a lot and I haven't found their off time I swear it always seems to be busy. Mystic pretty much beats them in every way though since I'm giving out my opinion. Both places offer h17 das rsa $5, $10, $15 & $25 mins but mystic is bigger and offers better pen hands down!
