Spreading 1-12 with $25 min bet, when to use black chips (if at all?)

Just curious your opinion on this situation. Say I’m spreading 2x$300. Would I experience more heat with 2 stacks of three blacks or 2 stacks of 12 greens? I’m just concerned on the tallness of the stack. I think the general opinion is to avoid using black chips at all costs but just wanted to confirm this.

There’s also the topic of having two color stacks. In that case, the optimal stack in my opinion would be 4 greens and 2 blacks, with the greens stacked on top of the blacks. Again, probably think most people would say stick with one color but wanted to confirm.

Depends on the store. If they call black action, avoid it. If half the patrons in the place are playing with black chips (think Bellagio or similar) then you could get away with it more.

Almost all the casino's I've played at in Vegas call black action or check plays. How can we avoid this? Never been backed off but their's only so many times action is being called until the pit just comes and watches.

If you are spreading 2X300 in a double deck game (or 6 deck for that matter) then the color of your chips is the least of your concern. Yes, when you move from less than $100 bet to $100 or more then "black action" or "checks play" may be announced. I do this frequently with no announcement because I have established this style and size of play in my local store. On the road, you bet size is going to get attention and moving your bet with the count will get you very unhappy results. Learn how to disguise. Many will tell you that cover is too expensive, I will tell you that the lack of cover will shorten your stay. No play = no EV.

If you elect crash and burn style you will need to be aware of shared surveillance data as what you think is your next store may not be availabe after a back off.

And in direct answer to one of your questions, it is size of bet and the stores threshold for announcement, not the color of the color of the chips. Focus on what is important.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

Yup. I've been at casinos where they call "black action" with one baclk chip, however, you can bet 400 in green and they don't say a word.
