In Vegas, they do not have to cash your chips unless they want to .I can assure you they can and may keep them if they ID you as an AP. Harrah's confiscated my 8 black chips, gave me a reciept and told me to take it up with Gaming, even after having my ID. They demanded I tell them what date and on what table I played. I had the chips for over 8 months prior and had no idea where, when or how I goT them.

FYI, the gaming agent told me I would have to file a claim and then go present my case to the gaming board. RESEARCH THE GAMING LAWS IN NEVADA! VERY UGLY, VERY CASINO PREFERENCED.
They confiscated your chips not because you are an AP but because the chips expired. I have played at casinos that all their chips have RFID. The pit boss remind me going straight to the cage to cash the chips right away or today. They have camera along the aisle from tables to the cage. Even the players don't give casinos the ID. They use sorted pictures to track everyone's winnings.

I did not give pit boss any ID. I played only 30 minutes and cashed out under $1,000. When I cashed my chips, I leaned on the cage to see what's on the monitor. It is my DMV photo, much younger though, could be two cycles ago. Somehow casinos can build a database with most population, at least on the same state, integrated with real time facial recognition software, tracking any dime players won. I say these days, winning big over a long period of time from one single casino or casino chain is over. The technology makes it impossible.

BobN has discussed this several times over the years. The Nevada Gamings regs say the person cashing chips must be a patron. They don't define patron.

Here's an almost 15 year old article (outlined, to bypass Las Vegas Sun's ad-block blocker) that shows Gaming sided with the players when they refused to give ID and MGM Grand confiscated their chips: https://outline.com/tKwNju

For the big time players, what about more sophisticated disguises.. by make up artists, etc, serious disguises that get past facial recognition?

Go read the structuring laws. I already know the answer and the post was correct.
