    Table Hopping

The casino I play in usually has a few tables open in the higher limit room when I go in the morning. I tend to do the hit and run strategy where I win a couple hundred dollars and go play a few hands of baccarat. Wanted to get an opinion on what would happen - if anything, if instead of going to play baccarat after winning $200 at the blackjack table, I just hopped over to the table next to me. I'm one of those people that likes to press and gets frustrated when I lose a few hands in a row so figure this might be a good way for me to play and be "smarter"

If you hop over to the table next to you, you will lose money. Duh.

Yes but my hope is that I can reach my goal of +1 unit in a few hands without going too deep into the shoe.

It sounds like you are a "gambler"
"hoping to win one unit." Your
    approach, I say, is ill-conceived.

Stick to BJ and count cards so that
at least your losses will be minimal
and you ought to show a profit over
time. Whoever said "Greed Kills" was
    a genius.

I think it is correct to say that unless you
have accumulated a lot of profits playing
in this place or maybe winning (something)
most of the time you have little to worry
about, but trying to earn any significant
amount of money at your LOCAL casino
sounds to me like the wrong game plan.

Also, if you play too many hours or too
many days in a month, they will make
believe that they like you, while they will
certainly watch your action pretty closely.

With counting, your edge comes later in the shoe. Patience grasshopper. Winning 1 unit then jumping tables is not a long-term winning strategy.

There is no gained EV in having a win limit, or a loss limit. If you are at your local and want to leave after winning $200 to preserve longevity, that may make sense.

Hopping to another table isn't cover, though. They will still watch your play there. And tossing a couple bucks at a -EV game (I'm assuming, as you didn't mention another angle) is just wasting money.

The name of the game is ADVANTAGE play...where or what could possibly fit this criteria??? Hopping tables defeats the point of counting. I.e. " I've counted 1/2 the shoe at this table, let me Hop over to a new table and play Off the top where I KNOW I'm starting off at a lower EV..." Yeah no. Good idea Bad idea what category you think that idea falls under???

Table hopping using Optimal Departure Points (each deck in the shoe has its own) when back counting and front counting produce higher $ hourly rates (and DI, SCORE, N0, Factor) by saving you time finding the good shoes resulting in the maximization of your time. In general, shoes that start trending in either positive or negative directions early will continue that trend. Using ODPs identify the right time to Wong out and look for a better shoe. All the sims I have run clearly demonstrate this to be statistically valid and I'm sure Don and Norm would concur

This is true, but the OP is talking about departing after a $200 win. Not after a certain count threshold is reached. When playing a shoe, I think most of us have a Wong out point.
