Technically Frontier charges $35 for any carry-on bag bigger than a laptop bag or briefcase but I've never bothered paying this and always bring a regular sized backpack or carry-on suitcase with no problems.
Still easily the worst airline I've ever flown on but damn their flights are cheap. I've seen $28 for international flights (Canada to US).
Frontier is a horrible airline. Rated the worst in a recent customer service survey.

I use Frontier all the time. The cost makes it well worth it for short flights. It used to be you could book the low price, no baggage and still get on with your carry on bag but as of recent, they are checking at gate and the boarding pass says no carry on bags so they do catch you (at gate, the charge is $60 per carry on bag).
Frontiers performance varies with where and when you fly but for me, the red eye Las Vegas flight has been fine.
