You may get lucky and they will bar you from playing again.

If it is Spanish 21 with the redouble rule , that can not happened . The dealer can have a bj right away but it can not draw to a bj maybe you meant the dealer drew to 21.

I am almost 100% certain you are counter measured . Don't play with certain dealer/pit personnel . Also you can't really win(almost) counting spread 1 to 4 play all . EVEN IF YOU CAN WIN IT IS WORTH SQUAT AND YOU ARE EXPOSING YOURSELF .

The dealer had a natural. My verbiage could have been better.

Agree on counter-measure... I have already determined that I won’t be playing with that shift again anytime soon.

My minimum wager was one $5 hand. My max was three $20 hands - that’s better than a 4-1 spread. I’m more concerned about perfecting skills than winning a lot of money right now. I am only risking $200 in a session, so the $60 on the table was significant for me. It was the last hand in a shoe where the TC was +6 (natural TC is -4). I’m up $900 this month, and improving quickly, so I’m good with my current wager levels. (I teach calculus full time and have zero intention of playing cards for a living.)

I do appreciate the responses I get here. Katarina Walker’s book is great and I use it heavily, but she has little to say about playing for very low amounts.

To me, it makes no sense going to 3 and of $20 from one hand of $5. You are better of betting one hand of $35 or $40.

Since you are doing this for fun , you will not have any problem playing for tiny stakes. With a max bet under $100 you should be able o play at most places if you don't camp out ,except for "dumps".

He/she is ust having fun an practicing . Maybe there are other players at the table therefore he/she spread to 3 hands.

i have played those places and spread to 2x $50/$75 . Later on spreading to 2 x $100 plus .After a few visit i got the attention from the pit personnel and never did went back . Those were great days(counting wise) , camping out and playing the great rules Spanish 21 offers . I assumed Spanish 21 is pretty much toasted nowadays.

I recognize that playing one hand with a larger wager is usually better than three. However, the count was very high, there were four other hands being played at the table and it was the last hand in the shoe, so I wanted to get as much money as I could (within my limits) on the table. According to Walker's book, I made the right move (albeit with much lower stakes than what she would have played).

I am playing for fun/practice. I tend to work to become very good at any game I learn - taking the time to read, practice, and ask questions of those who know more than I. I am extremely competitive... The game I am playing is Spanish 21 with some very liberal rules... (H17, double up to three times, spit on any pair four up to four hands, double at any time - including on split aces, five decks. The larger casinos around her tend not to allow a double-double and/or have a continuous shuffling machine, but otherwise have the same game. A lot of the smaller places (which you all would call "dumps," seem to have this rule set. Once I feel like I have this set (and counting) mastered, I'll move different rule sets and, likely, into proper Blackjack. I look at this as cheap entertainment where I periodically walk out with some extra money...
