Looking for Snowbird Destination With Casinos Nearby

Zee's road trip from Las Vegas made me think of Palm Springs CA as a possible winter snowbird destination. I will never move from the best place on earth, the good ole U.P., but I wouldn't mind getting away for a couple of months in the winter.

I'm interested in a low population area and it looks like Palm Springs is only about 50,000. Can anyone tell me if Palm Springs would be a good place to get away to for a month or so. I also thought Mesquite NV might be another good snowbird destination. Anybody have any thoughts on either of these destinations.

Something doesn't seem quite right here:

Some areas got up to 10 inches, and all the schools closed. This storm will delay the spring snow melt by at least 5 days. I still have 2 feet of snow in my back yard. Just think, in 6 months we start all over again.

Mesquite is affordable. Palm Springs, for me....not so much.

You would not like Palm Springs area traffic either given your aversion to anyone or anything but wildlife or snow being on the road. Proximity to LA and San Diego. Freeway has 5-7 lanes not sure. Morning and afternoon traffic both can pile up. Its not horrible, but it’s not what you’re picturing from a small city, closer to traffic from a stand alone medium-large city in the Midwest, somewhere between KC/STL and Minneapolis type traffic.

St. George, UT. Warm, arid climate in winter, fairly remote, large senior population, not pricey, about 2 hours from Vegas.

I was serious about St. George. What do you find funny about it?

    OK, now I get it.

As with Zee, sometimes I have weak moments and post something helpful for them. In this case, you know as well as I do that MWP will never leave his cherished UP, even in the dead of winter. We both know his life is not complete without being able to complain about the weather. Is that better now?
