Maybe Counters Don't Have it so bad after all

A man wins $1.2 Million by taking Tiger Woods to win the Masters this week at 14-1 odds (William Hill called it "Biggest loss ever")

This news article was about his criminal past.
Here is a quote from the article:

"It’s not uncommon for sportsbook to run background checks on bettors before accepting large bets, especially from unknown bettors."

I'm not much of a sports better but this surprised me, maybe blackjack players don't have it so bad after all.
If they are doing this at the sportsbook, where does the line get drawn?

The sad part is it was the mans first ever sports bet! Probably safe to say he is now "hooked" and the money will be gone within a year.
