Casino Road trip from Las Vegas

Normally, for the past few years, I have flown into Las Vegas and essentially played BJ in and around Las Vegas. I am thinking of taking a road trip from Las Vegas, say 5 days starting in Las Vegas. What would be an interesting drive that runs by good places to play? Does one go towards Northern Nevada (Reno, into Ca, etc.), towards San Diego? Towards New Mexico?

I was looking for a place to fly and then take a road trip. Flying to Minneapolis and heading towards WI is for the future because its too damn cold still. Flying to NO is a possibility too. As is PA. But, flying to Las Vegas is cheap, rental cars are cheap too.

    Any road trip suggestions?

How about from Las Vegas head on down to Laughlin then continue south to Avi casino then over to the Palm Springs CA casinos and if time then to the casinos east of San Diego.

I would not drive from Las Vegas up to Reno. It is way to far. Another option would be to fly into SLC and then go to Wendover and then up to Jackpot NV.

Laughlin...sucks. I mean really, really, sucks. The BJ, other opportunities, the casinos themselves, the entire Uber-less-have-to-taxi-anywhere city sucks.

Its only, and I mean ONLY redeeming quality is that if you get a comped trip there, car rentals are super cheap and it's only 90 minutes to the strip.

Yeah, I agree Laughlin is not the best, but it is not terrible either. If you qualify for a comped charter trip it can be a real inexpensive trip. It is really geared to the red chip level, and I must admit on my last two trips there I got "heat" at the red chip level.

However, overall I have won there. I have made 4 lifetime trips to Laughlin and won on 3 out of the 4.
    Trip 1: 28.0 hrs won $1,300.
    Trip 2: 37.0 hrs won $2,098.
    Trip 3: 32.0 hrs lost $1,391.
    Trip 4: 26.5 hrs won $1,793.
Totals 123.5 hrs won $3,800. or $30.77 per hour playing time.

Zee, would have a rental car with him and most of the casinos are in walking distance. Hotels are dirt cheap and probably easy to get comped.

When was your last time there?

Use Air BnB to cut down on your expenses.

Not necessarily. Have you read any of Midwest Player posts lately? He’s been on a hot streak for about two years. It could be he’s really lucky, or in AP jargon on the positive side of variance. Or he could be making it up. I don’t believe the last statement....just throwing it out there as a possibility.

At any rate, as we all know short terms results don’t mean much.

First trip was in fall of 2015. Second and third trips were in 2016, and 4th trip was in spring of 2017. I'm still getting offers from the casinos there for free rooms and free play. I have turned down several comped flights.

I have not been there since the Aquarius, Edgewater, and Colorado Belle casinos came under new casino ownership. My favorite casinos there were the Aquarius, then the Riverside, then Golden Nugget, and then Tropicana. Major "heat" at Tropicana. They deleted all my comps, but didn't kick me out. I left when I got the "heat".

Zee, has to start his trip from Las Vegas from somewhere. He likes low limits as I do which Laughlin has and this could just be a stop on his way to the southern CA casinos.

Zee, I would advise against going to Laughlin during the annual Laughlin River Run. That is when all the bikers come to town. This year the river run is from April 24th to April 28th. A few years ago a big bikers fight broke out. A few folks got shot.

Zee, the Riverside casino also has a classic car museum. If you are into cars you might like that.

No need to use Air BnB in Laughlin. Hotel casino rooms are dirt cheap in Laughlin. Several casinos are offering rooms for under $25. I think Harrah's is about $25 a night.

You can win at 6:5 SD where they deal one round and shuffle. Anything can happen short term. MWP seems to be short term results oriented lately. Very odd for someone playing over 20 years.
