PB/Dealer Requests ID Due To Young Looks, Should I Just Play Rated?

Hey guys, it's been a couple years since my last post (or any serious BJ for that matter). Happy to be back! Anyways found a game that welcomes me so I've caught the bug again and a question came to mind. I've always been the tombstone type player, so I just played rated and went with it.

Now I look young. With that being said; my ID is shown every time I sit at the table to either the PB/Dealer. I assume upon review of the tape, the EITS can see my full name, location and everything. Or even the PB simply just looking at the card to inspect if I'm legal to sit at the table.

In other words, if they want to know who I am, they can. Any point in playing unrated at this point? Or should I just try to squeeze more comps out, match plays, credits and etc by going rated.

The action I have been giving them is close to a 35-1 spread on shoes, for the DD, I've been keeping it more moderate and going 12-1. but I have an amazing degenerate act (or I'd like to think).

With all things considered, should I play unrated or rated?

Can you get a wristband from security on entry so they don't check you at the table?

Hmm I always assumed those were chords given after you make a players card, if I frequent the property (twice/week) I cant imagine going to the front desk/reception to be much better in terms of showing ID (in fact, they'd prob push the idea of getting a card).

However I will try to see if they have a wristband and I'll see if I can recycle (rewear) it over and over to avoid the process.

Wristbands are made for one-time use and they often change colors from day to day to prevent minors from swapping, etc. A card doesn't eliminate the need for proof of age checks. How diligent they are depends on the juristiction and casino. Some areas are fairly lax, others incredibly stringent, especially after Gaming fines them for letting underage patrons gamble.

There are casinos where you only have to be 18 years old to play. And there are literally high school kids driving there to gamble. They don't ID anyone, as long as you are not drinking.

Regardless the wristbands doesn't really address the premise of the problem; which is that I keep getting ID'ed. So even if I manage to get a band, my full name/address is still on display to EIT/PB/employees.

Therefore, do I still try my best to play unrated or do I go rated since they know who I am if they review the tape.

Since its kinda suspect that I wouldn't want the free comps with the moderate action I give (I tombstone).

I'd still make it unrated. Sure, they might figure out who you are, but isn't that true for any of us? Car tags, rentals, zooming in on cell phones can all be used to establish identity. I just think why make it easy on them?

Was about to post something similar. This is the answer you want.

Funny note about this. Refused a players card tonight. Spread pretty large for the casino's standards. Walked with a pocket stuffed with black while still down. Casino sent a goon down to intimidate me into handing up an ID. Not going to be in this unpleasant and backwards part of the USA for much longer so I realize refusing to show and walking probably isn't a strong play, as I like having my cash in cash, not uncashable chips. Also it was obvious they were planning to ID when I went to cash. Handed up my ID, made the security guard a pal.

In hindsight, if I'd just gotten a players card they probably wouldn't have acted this way as I'm still welcome to play in their establishment( unhindered for...probably 1 more hour if I'm lucky).

Take it as a case by case basis. But generally RCJH's advice holds strong.

Should have just taken off. Chips are always cashable. Even if you have to show up at 4am in a disguise. Or have a friend or family member do it.

They usually try to get I.D. after the fact because they want to flyer you or put you in/check their databases.

I was playing once and got asked by 4 different pit bosses to get a players card. They even tried to bribe me with comped food if I got one. I got backed off about 5 minutes after that.

Yeah pretty obvious their intentions. Like I said, other options like friends/family, later, were not necessarily viable. Sometimes you've got to bite the bullet. Even after the fact, cashiers cage photocopied my ID.

I too look young and get ID'd frequently. I'd stay away from playing rated for blackjack. The information they attach with your players card is more than when they simply check your ID. However, if you're not concerned with longevity in your local stomping grounds, you can milk them for as long as you're able to. From experience I did this and had a great year or so, but now am in OSN and playing rated anywhere for blackjack is out of the question.

Some places will give you a wrist band without any hesitation. Other places will try to make up some profile into a system which can lead to issues down the line.
