Stop Wins, Stop Losses and their kissing cousins Positive and Negative betting progressions all have different impacts on the distribution of session results. When you decide to stop or how you decide to increase or decrease your bets all impact the magnitude of your wins and losses and the frequency of either. Doesn't change the net result which must always be (action x edge).

So 16% chance of being one or more SD down and also 16% chance of being one or more up, correct? (Honest question, I'm not somewhere where I can look it up). So does that mean you have a only a 68% chance of being within one SD either way?

Also, when you say "in the hole" you don't necessarily mean you lost money, right? Just that you are below your EV?
    RCJH,

    1. Yes: your results will fall within one SD of the mean 68% of the time.

    2. Unfortunately, "in the hole" means you do in fact lose money. Actually, you will be below EV half the time.

    Hope this helps!
